I really enjoyed reviewing Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed as I loved living out a childhood dream of busting ghosts and causing property damage with a proton pack. Guess soon I and other fans will have to suit back up and get ready to continue hunting ghosts as IllFonic has announced today that DLCs are about to drop for the game! The first of several FREE DLCs that will be coming out each quarter of 2023 will be featuring a new location, ghost, and customizations for characters. The new level is called The Facility. The Facility closed for good in the late 1980s and has been recently purchased by a private investor group, who have plans to renovate and reopen the facility. Unfortunately for them, it’s being plagued by ghostly activity, and construction crews refuse to enter this haunted health center. Along with The Facility will be a new ghost type that players can bust or play as, and that’s the fan

Merchoid was awesome enough to send me a The Nightmare Before Christmas ugly Christmas sweater, and it’s anything but ugly! If you’re wondering if it keeps you warm, YES it does. How do I know? Remember that snowstorm that hit Buffalo back in November? Guess who was wearing an

From the first moment I got a cryptic email telling me about a new game coming from Glen Schofield (creator of Dead Space) called The Callisto Protocol, I was in from the word go! During the pandemic, there were a lot of changes going on that some people adjusted well to while others had no coping skills and made simple solutions painfully difficult to enforce. Game developers were also affected by the pandemic and like the aforementioned groups of people, felt fear, isolation, and uncertainty about the future. Indie game publisher and developer HOOK was inspired by this and made Edengate: The Edge of Life. I want to give thanks to HOOK for the reviewing opportunity! In Edengate: The Edge of Life players take on the role of Mia, a biologist, who has awakened in the hospital with little to no memory of what or how she got there, even more, she’s all alone, and not just in the hospital but in the entire city of Edengate. Now onto the game itself. When it comes to Edengate: The Edge of Life‘s controls, they’re literally just movement, zoom, and interaction, that’s it, pretty much impossible

When the sun sets in the west, you would think the day’s done right? Nope, that’s when the work picks up in Flying Wild Hog’s game, Evil West. A big thank you to Focus Home and Flying Wild Hog for the reviewing opportunity! Evil West takes place in an alternative 19th-century timeline where players take on the role of Jesse Rentier, a vampire hunter with the secretive Rentier Institute that hunts down the vampire threat in the US. Someone behind the scene among the vampires wants to rage all-out war against humans and attacked the Rentier Institute head-on, forcing Jesse to take on the role of the organization’s leader and rebuild the institute. Now onto the game itself! The controls are easy to learn and adapt to. When it comes to sound, the voice acting, ambient sounds, and music are all good but the mixing should be tweaked as even though I lowered the volume on everything else and raised

When it comes to faith people either have it, don’t, or are unsure. In Saint Kotar, the faith of our heroes is tested as modern faith and old traditions collide. I want to thank SOEDESCO and Red Martyer Entertainment for the reviewing opportunity! Saint Kotar takes players to a remote town in Croatia where the people practice modern and pagan beliefs while under the watchful eyes of the town’s leaders who rule with fear. The village is also plagued by kidnappings and murders carried out by the “Moon Ghouls”, a group of cannibal cultists. Players take on the roles of Benedek, a monk, and staunch Catholic, and Nikolay, a Deacon and Benedek’s brother-in-law. The two find themselves waking up in a living nightmare as Benedek’s estranged sister (and Nikolay’s wife) has gone missing and is somehow involved in events that just took place in the town. Now onto the game itself. Saint Kotar is a point-and-click game, which becomes obvious

The recent installment of the video game series, The Dark Pictures Anthology titled The Devil In Me, focused on the exploits of the infamous 19century serial killer H.H. Holmes. In the game as well as pretty much anywhere else you always hear that Holmes (real name Herman Webster Mudgett) is “America’s First Serial Killer”. This title is only half true. Holmes is probably America’s first highly publicized Serial Killer thanks to there being advances in communications at the time, photographs, and 42 states with decent size populations for the time to hear and read about his exploits and trial. But H.H. Holmes is not the first serial killer to spill the blood of his fellow citizens on its soil. The title really belongs to the Harpe Brothers. The Harpe Brothers, Joshua (also known as Micajah), and William (also known as Wiley) were both born either in Scotland OR the British Colony of North Carolina in the 18th century. The life
