A new extended trailer is here for James Gunn‘s horror meets superhero movie, Brightburn, giving us a few extra seconds of footage. That kid is terrifying! You almost feel sorry for Brandon, at least before you see what he does to those around him. Director David Yarovesky is really heaping on the horror, and for that, we say thank you.

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? In this horror-centered take on the superhero trope, a couple (Elizabeth Banks and David Denman) adopt a baby from another world. They raise the boy (Jackson A. Dunn) to use his powers for good, but an evil begins to grow within him.

Written by James Gunn and Mark Gunn, Brightburn takes over theaters on May 24, 2019.
