Streaming Services Battling It Out To Win ‘Godzilla Vs. King Kong’

Like many films these days, it looks like Godzilla vs. King Kong will reportedly be bypassing theaters and heading straight to streaming platforms. THR is reporting that Netflix is aiming to acquire the film, offering a staggering $200 million for the upcoming movie from Legendary Pictures. However, they aren’t the only ones after the property. But word is, Warner Bros. Media wants it to premiere exclusively on their HBO Max service. The epic next chapter in the cinematic Monsterverse pits two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another – the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong with humanity caught in the balance. Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Rebecca Hall, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, Danai Gurira, Ziyi Zhang, and Julian Dennison star in Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard, which is currently in post-production. Cloverfield 3 Release Delayed, New Date Announced

The third film in the Cloverfield franchise, with the working title of God Particle, was originally set to arrive on February 2nd, news has now come that Paramount has delayed the release by several months. In the film, after a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator causes the Earth to seemingly vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation or a harbinger of doom. David Oyelowo stars alongside John Krasinski, Daniel Brühl, Gug Mbtha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris O’Dowd. Cloverfield: God Particle Lands New Release Date

Earlier this year J. J. Abrams surprised fans with a sequel to 2008’s found-footage alien film Cloverfield, titled 10 Cloverfield Lane. The film was huge success, renewing interest in the franchise for fans. We reported in late October that Abrams’ third film of the franchise, titled God Particle, had quietly entered production. Originally, the film was set to release on February 24, 2017, but that day came and went. Today, news has come that God Particle has a new release date, October 27, 2017, which was confirmed at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas. New Cloverfield Sequel ‘God Particle’ Has Entered Production

J.J. Abrams surprised fans earlier this year with a sequel to 2008’s found-footage alien film ‘Cloverfield’, titled ’10 Cloverfield Lane’. The film was huge success, renewing interest in the franchise for fans. It is not surprising that Abrams already has plans for another sequel. What is surprising is that it has already quietly entered production. Abrams revealed to The Wrap that the the new sequel, titled ‘God Particle’, has entered production and has a release date, February 24th, 2017.
