Movie Review: Evil Little Things

The latest offering in the killer doll subgenre of fright fare is director Matt Green’s Evil Little Things, a horror anthology consisting of two main tales and a wraparound. The film offers a fair share of amusement, but it falls a bit flat in the technical department, including some editing and sound glitches that are so jarring they had me wondering whether they were errors on the screener that I watched or baffling directorial choices. Evil Little Things kicks off with a fuming stepfather (Zach Galligan of Gremlins and Waxwork) threatening his stepson Jason (Mason Wells) when the little boy insists there is a monster under his bed at tuck-in time. Jason’s mother (L.A. Winters) takes the young boy doll shopping the next day to make him feel safer at night. A creepy doll maker (Geoff McKnight) spins two fanciful, eerie yarns to the twosome. In the first story, mother Jess (Hannah Fierman of Siren and St. Agatha), having recently

This May Discover The Horror Anthology ‘Evil Little Things’ (Trailer)

Zach Galligan (Gremlins) won’t be getting much sleep this May when Evil Little Things hits town! From director Matt Green (Digging Up Graves, Dance of the Dead) and starring Hannah Fierman, Courtney Lakin, and Jonathan Horne, comes a deliciously wicked new horror anthology in the tradition of Creepshow, written by Yasmin Bakhtiari and Nancy Knight. “A young boy finds a mystical toymaker with stories to tell. Clowns are supposed to be the guardians of happiness, right? These Evil Little Things will cause you many sleepless nights.” . Zach Galligan Gives An Update On Gremlins 3

Studios are breathing new life into old franchise a lot lately. One sequel we have been looking forward to, but not hearing a lot about, is ‘Gremlins 3’. Bloody Disgusting points out that recently Zach Galligan, who stared in the first two films and has been working hard to keep the ‘Gremlins’ legacy alive, told Bleeding Cool where the sequel stands. Unfortunately, it is not at point we had hoped for. I think you can tell what’s happening with Gremlins 3 the same way you could tell with Gremlins 2. It’s the same people and they tend to work the same way. There is a huge time gap but it’s Warner Bros, Spielberg and Chris Columbus. Now, Chris Columbus didn’t have anything to do with Gremlins 2 – because by his own admission he didn’t see a franchise. He kind of regrets it I believe, but he was ‘one and done.’ I don’t think he cared for Gremlins 2 and

The New Gremlins Film Will Be….

It was just a matter of time before Gremlins was added to the list of new remakes, or so we thought. Zach Galligan, who played the role of Billy in the original two films, announced that the new Gremlins film will actually be a sequel, not a remake. Galligan told an audience at a recent screening of the 1984 film “It’s not going to be a reboot. It will not be a remake in any way, shape or form. Chris Columbus has come out and said that the first film is very near and dear to his heart and as long as he is alive it will never be remade. So the only thing they will be – and apparently are going to be – doing is something along the lines of like Jurassic World, where it will be 30 years later.” There is no word yet if Galligan will be returning for the new film. Personally, I think it
