‘Call Of Cthulhu’ Game: Understanding The Madness

Sometime in 2018, the most anticipated pole playing horror game will bring new cosmic horrors to gamers everywhere, “The Call Of Cthulhu”. The game, from Cyanide Studio, is an adaptation of the RPG boardgame based on the famed short story written by H.P. Lovecraft in 1926 before being published in 1928. Players will take on the role of a private investigator named Edward Pierce as he investigates the mysterious death of an artist named Sarah Hawkins on the mysterious island of Darkwater. As Pierce, players can recruit others to help him investigate different cases on the island in an open-world setting, all the while facing your own sanity as madness slowly grips you. Many fans of Lovecraft’s works pretty much know the background of this tale that’s taking place in the same universe as the original short story but there’s also a strong possibility that some may not be aware of the lore that will be seen in it, to

‘The Peterson Case’, A Detective Game That’s Out Of This World

The developers at Quarter Circle Games will plunge players into a detective story like no other in The Peterson Case, a truly unique horror game set in 1947 Roswell, New Mexico. You are Franklyn Reinhardt, a detective, and you’re looking into the disappearance of the Peterson family. While investigating the house, Reinhardt discovers there is something else in the empty home. Players will have to solve puzzles that will help Reinhardt discover what happened to the Peterson family. The obvious element of the story is that The Peterson Case involves aliens, 1947 in Roswell ‘nough said, but it’s not the typical alien encounter type gameplay, it seems to be more cerebral. Reinhardt (from what can be seen in the trailer) is taken to different places or events in his life where it seems the extraterrestrials are pulling the strings. The Peterson Case will be out sometime in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

RTS Game ‘Iron Harvest’ Kickstarter Surpasses $1,250,000

Kingart Games’ Kickstarter campaign was more than just successful; it was a colossal triumph for the independent developer whose Kickstarter is only 48 hours away (at this time) from ending. What game could they have come up with that would amass such a following? Iron Harvest a game that takes place in an alternate universe where giant mechanical soldiers fight alongside infantry units in an alternate post-WWI Europe. Its 1920+ Europe is recovering from the Great War where giant mechanical soldiers stomped across battlefields. When the war ended, these mechs became part of everyday life but now forces from the shadows are planning to destabilize Europe and engulf the world into another great war where control of the world is at stake. The idea of the game came from the works of Polish artist Jakub Różalski, which depicts giant robots being used in the European countryside. Now onto the game itself! Iron Harvest is a real-time-strategy (RTS) game where players

Raising Awareness: Final Thoughts On ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’

This is a Spoiler Free article! Ninja Theory has released on Xbox One today their hit game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice that received positive reviews when it was on PlayStation 4 and PC. Ninja Theory allowed me to play the Xbox One version early and write a review for it. After finally completing the game, all I can say is the last time I’ve ever played a game that made me sit back and say “Wow…” after completing it was Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2 back in 2006. The following are my final thoughts on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice a game that’s both haunting and beautiful. It’s no big secret; the storyline’s core is about Senua’s mental health, this would make her relatable to the 1 in 5 American adults who suffer from all ranges of mental illnesses. The developers kept it no secret that Senua suffers from Psychosis, right now you’re probably thinking negatively of her thanks in part

All I can say now is you need to get this game! The game is heavily influenced by ancient Celtic culture along with Norse mythology, that’s enough right there to make you throw your wallets at the screen right now. The game revolves not just on the culture and mythology but on our heroine Senua’s mental health, Ninja Theory worked closely with mental health experts to make this part of the experience as real as possible, this is where the game is unique.
