‘Chained: A Victorian Nightmare’ Coming To VR

MWM Interactive is bringing the chills in time for the holidays with a haunting retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic Victorian ghost story, A Christmas Carol in the new VR experience ripped right from the pages, Chained: A Victorian Nightmare. Chained: A Victorian Nightmare is an interactive first-person where players can experience the long night of facing the past, present, and future through the eyes of Scrooge himself. The game itself is moody and atmospheric staying true to the original source material which is darker than what we were told as kids (cheeky Victorians). The game will be available later this month for the Oculus Rift, Steam, and HTC Vive for $5.99.

‘Speak Of The Devil’: Enter The World Of Horror In VR

Not going to lie, VR glasses creep me out…something about my eyes getting sensors shot into them (I admit, I don’t know the science behind it). However, VR production Company Light Sail VR is hoping that everyone will be creeped out by their new project. ‘Speak of the Devil’ has been released for Samsung Gear VR and is being released on more gear as we speak. Available for $2.99, the project allows the user to get lost in the world of horror in a new and exciting way. The sinister choose-your-own-adventure experience takes viewers on a terrifying camping trip they will never forget–if they survive. With 12 fatal paths and only one ending that leads to survival, viewers are in control of the narrative as they explore the woods and come across different paths that lead them to their bloodcurdling fate. I may have to actually give VR a chance with this because it has definitely piqued my interest. Download

A First Look At Robert Englund In Alexandre Aja’s ‘Campfire Creepers’

The Hills Have Eyes’ Alexandre Aja is entering the VR arena for his next project Campfire Creepers. Aja will both direct and produce the anthology series. One of the episodes of the series will star none other than Freddy Krueger actor Robert Englund, and we have the first official image, thanks to a tweet from the genre legend himself, as well as several behind the scenes images. “The series invites viewers to join the fire circle at Camp Coyote as a group of campers take turns telling scary stories, each one leading you on an immersive ride into your darkest childhood fears.” Casey Cooper Johnson and Martin Anderson co-created the anthology. They also penned the first season. The first episode is now filming and is set to debut this Halloween, exclusively in the Oculus Store.
