Debunking “100 Years Pandemic” Meme

Now that social distancing, lockdowns, and shelter in place events are going on around the globe, many people have time on their hands… so much so that they’re now posting clips from bogus articles that first appeared in January of this year and shared on many not so relevant/scholarly/trustworthy news sites, today Horror fuel is challenging these claims! According to the article and the meme that was birthed from it, every 100 years there’s a major pandemic and that we should be worried. The article and meme mention the 1720 Plague, the 1820 Cholera Outbreak, the 1920 Spanish Flu, and tops it off with the misnamed 2020 “Chinese” Flu. Let’s start off with the first claim, the 1720 Plague which is convenient that it appears that’s when recorded human history must have begun according to the ones who began these claims as no other years are mentioned before this one. Historically there was indeed a plague in 1720, it was

‘Remothered: Tormented Fathers’ Is Praised By Horror Gaming Legend

“Remothered: Tormented Fathers”, a survival horror video game that’s a throwback to classic interactive entertainment titles that define the genre. With the impending console release less than 24 hours away (July 25, 2018) the game and its hardworking developers received some (well deserved) recognition and praise from a legend in the horror gaming field. Chris Darril, creative director of “Remothered: Tormented Fathers” received a tweet from Keiichiro Toyama who praised the game. Toyama is the creator of critically acclaimed gaming horror phenomenon “Silent Hill”. To put it in perspective to some, this is the equivalent of Leonardo da Vinci saying the sketch you just drew was amazing, Dave Grohl liking a melody you were humming, or Alfred Hitchcock praising your two-minute long film project. Not only did Toyama praise the game, he even expressed interest in doing a project together with Darril someday which a big deal is since Toyama’s past works “Silent Hill” and “Siren” helped inspired “Remothered: Tormented

Japanese Twitter User Encounters A Creepy But Familiar Character

You may not know this but the fast food chain KFC is popular in Japan, especially the loveable grandfather-like mascot, Colonel Sanders. Japanese Twitter user @eastbighelp probably does not feel the same about the man anymore after their encounter with one of the many statues of Sanders that you may find in Japan. チャリ乗っててガチでうわーーって声出たわ pic.twitter.com/bPMouNzHdI — イースト (@eastbighelp) June 21, 2018 @eastbighelp was biking home at night when they say a figure standing under a street light. They approached cautiously thinking it was some hooligan but soon recognized the smiling face. The statue of the Colonel has seen better days due to being left out in the elements. On the chest of the beloved American is a sign that says, “Watch out for children!”, obviously, a message for drivers to be wary of children who live in the area, but to someone out late at night, it seems like this creepy old man is warning you about the children! ‘My Name Is Death’, The Perfect Dark Humor Webtoon

Again on Line Webtoon, I’ve discovered a little gem, a comic by Spanish artist Rumbo (Josué Rumbo) titled My name is Death. The comic follows the grim reaper himself and the shenanigans that arise as he works. Death himself looks a bit different from what we think of him, he’s a little guy with a wicked sense of humor that resembles Deadpool (who makes an appearance in one of the comics.) The comics are a perfect mix of silliness, pop culture references, and at times social commentary. When the series first started the drawings looked different but as the series progresses the drawings become cleaner (thanks to donations from readers) Overall, My name is Death is a funny little comic strip that updates weekly if you like dark humor, sarcasm, and even a little cuteness; this comic is for you! You can read it HERE, you can also check out My name is Death on Facebook and Twitter and you

2 ½ Minutes To Midnight

The famed “Doomsday Clock” is ticking ever so close to the infamous “Midnight” where the complete annihilation of mankind would occur. The figurative clock was created in 1947 after the world saw the results of the two nuclear bombings in Japan that ended the Second World War. The clock was set up as a sort of reminder to the public around the world to make people aware of factors that could possibly bring about a nuclear holocaust. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists released a statement Wednesday announcing the movement of the clock’s hands stating that this was the first time the clock has been this close to Midnight since 1953 after both the United States and the Soviet Union tested their nuclear weapons ushering in the Cold War and ticking the clock to 2 minutes to midnight. Other destructive factors contribute to why the clock ticks ever so closer. One of the factors this time around is Earth’s rising

BABYMETAL Guitarist Passes Away After Accident

It’s being announced today via social media that Japanese guitarist Mikio Fujioka has passed away. On Fujioka’s twitter account his wife made the announcement that he died on January 5th at the age of 36. Fujioka fell from an astronomical observation deck on December 30th while stargazing. His health took a turn for the worse and passed away from his injuries with his two daughters present at the moment of his death. Fujioka published ten guitar textbooks and was a lecturer at a music school in Japan but he’s mostly known from being part of the Kami Band (originally referred to as the Gods of Metal), a group made up of five musicians who are members of other bands or work on solo projects but come together to be the band for Japan’s Kawaii-Metal music group BABYMETAL. Fujioka went by the stage name Ko-Gami (the Small God) because he was the shortest member of the Kami Band at 5’1 (158cm).

Logan Paul Has A New Problem, Japanese Police

The most hated man on the internet who “Dabs on Haters” can’t Dab his way out of this one. Police officials from Yamanashi prefecture want to speak with Logan Paul in relation to his disastrous click-bait video that shows him and his friends in Japan’s “Suicide Forest” where they found the remains of a victim of suicide and joke around while filming it. It’s unclear why the Police wish to speak with Logan since they’re declining to comment, in Japan whenever a suicide is involved. Though there have been many documentaries made in Japan’s Suicide Forest, Logan Paul’s is a first of its kind where the ones filming, visibly show disrespect and exploit the situation. A side note, contrary to popular belief Japan does not have the highest suicide rates in the world. According to data by the World Health Organization (WHO) that was updated in April 2017, based on suicides per 100,000 people a year, Japan is 26 on
