DVD Review: “The Alienist Season 2: Angel Of Darkness”

I hold in my hand a copy of “The Alienist: Angel of Darkness“, which serves as the second season of the crime-thriller series from TNT, set to be released on May 18, 2021. Let me start with the box itself which has an almost metallic sheen and features an image of the three main stars, Daniel Brühl (Rush), Luke Evans (Midway), and Dakota Fanning (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), flanked by red wings dripping with blood. The box is quite beautiful and honestly, pictures don’t do it justice. It would make a fantastic piece for any collection. “Angel of Darkness” features eight one-hour episodes on three discs. The season picks up a year after the team’s first investigation where Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a pioneer in forensic psychiatry, tracked down the brutal serial killer John Beecham with the help of a team of trusted companions and a revolutionary application of the principles of his discipline. Kreizler and his friends–high-living crime

“The Alienist Season 2: Angel Of Darkness” Hunts A Killer This May On Blu-Ray And DVD

Witness the second season of TNT’s award-winning series “The Alienist: Angel of Darkness,” on Blu-ray and DVD this May. Featuring eight shocking episodes filled with dread, drama, and tension, the series will leave you on the edge of your seat and your mouth gaped open. “It is June 1897. A year has passed since Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a pioneer in forensic psychiatry, tracked down the brutal serial killer John Beecham with the help of a team of trusted companions and a revolutionary application of the principles of his discipline. Kreizler and his friends–high-living crime reporter John Schuyler Moore; indomitable, derringer-toting Sara Howard; the brilliant (and bickering) detective brothers Marcus and Lucius Isaacson; powerful and compassionate Cyrus Montrose; and Stevie Taggert, the boy Kreizler saved from a life of street crime–have returned to their former pursuits and tried to forget the horror of the Beecham case. But when the distraught wife of a Spanish diplomat begs Sara’s aid, the team reunites

Tales From The Crypt Still Alive, Sort Of

We reported earlier this week that there was a problem with the new ‘Tales From the Crypt’ series and that it might be dead. Bloody-Disgusting posted an update that revealed that the series is currently in limbo due to some issues with the right to the revamped series. The update came from TNT themselves. The underlying rights to this classic, vintage property are complicated. TNT and others have been pursuing a solution for more than a year, with significant progress being made. We look forward to the potential for further active development of this valuable franchise once the clearance process is fully resolved.” The anthology series under the direction of M. Night Shyamalan – meant to be part of TNT’s new horror block along with the new series ‘Time of Death’ and ‘Creatures‘ – got the green light back earlier this year. The series plans on making a few changes, including replacing “The Crypt Keeper’ with a new host, due

You Could Have Your Ideas Featured On Tales From The Crypt

We reported back earlier this year that M. Night Shyamalan was returning Tales from the Crypt to our TVs. Imagine if you will, the Crypt Keeper (a redesigned version) introducing the night’s show and it happens to have been created by you. That would be awesome, right? Variety reported today that Turner’s TNT and TBS will be teaming up with the online community Wattpad and giving users to have their stories adapted for a show, digital or mobile platforms. The first show up is Tales from the Crypt and they are inviting Wattpad users to submit their stories and ideas through the Turner profile on the service. Our partnership with Wattpad is a perfect intersection of content and fan engagement, where fans actually have the chance to directly influence and, in some cases even have their material optioned and developed by our networks,” Justin Williams, senior VP of digital ventures for TNT and TBS, said. If you are not already

M. Night Shyamalan Gives An Update On The New Tales From The Crypt Series

We reported back in January the M. Night Shyamalan will be making a new Tales From The Crypt series for TNT. Days later we had news that the Crypt Keeper that we all know and love would not be returning, instead a new character will be taking his place. Since January, there hasn’t been much said about the series, until this past weekend at WonderCon. While Shyamalan was promoting season 2 of his show Wayward Pines, he took a moment to talk about Tales From The Crypt and that we would be seeing a new Crypt Keeper with /Film. “You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d ask me this six months ago I would have had a different answer, but where I am right not it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now.” If you’re wondering why the new series won’t feature the classic Crypt Keeper, it’s simple, the
