The 40th Anniversary Of The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Today, August 14, 2015, marks the 40th anniversary of one of my very favorite movies, the 1975 classic ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. You would have to be from outer space to have never have heard of the ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. It’s fantastic for so many reasons, it’s unforgettable characters, great lines, fun musical numbers. It truly is one of a kind. The movie also happens to be the longest running film in cinema history. In ‘the Rocky Horror Picture Show’ love birds Brad and Janet (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandaon) are on their way to see the professor, Dr. Everett V. Scott, played by Jonathan Addams, to tell him of their engagement. Along the way the car gets a flat, “how about that”. The two walk to a mansion they saw a ways back, but they’re in for a wild night. The door is answered by the butler/handyman Riff Raff (Richard O’Brien). The enter the home to

FOX To Remake ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’

There are few movies in this world that I love more than the 1975 cult classic ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’. Few movies have such a large cult following as ‘Rocky Horror’. So many will understand why I was absolutely furious when it came to my attention that FOX is remaking ‘Rocky Horror’ for TV. My first thought, how dare they? The rash of recent reboots is off the charts and in my opinion, they have just crossed the line. No one, and I mean no one can properly play Brad and Janet, Riff Raff, Magentam or Columbia other than the original cast and as far as I am concerned Tim Curry IS Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ is approaching it’s 40th anniversary, and how do they celebrate the milestone? By butchering it. What on God’s green earth could make FOX think this was ok? Are you wondering who is behind this nonsense ? Gail Berman of The Jackal

Pennywise Is Coming To New York!

The reboot of the 1990 miniseries ‘IT’, based on the Stephen King novel by the same name, is finally entering the pre-production phase of filming. After a five year wait, ‘IT’ will begin filming this June in New York. The new version of ‘IT’ will be divided into two films and possibly a trilogy by director Cary Fukunaga. Writers Seth Grahame Smith, David Kajganich and Chase Palmer wrote the script for the new ‘IT’. Director Cary Fukunaga The biggest delay in filming has been trying to find a new Pennywise who can match Tim Curry’s performance as the killer clown (if that’s even possible). There is no word yet who has been cast as the new Pennywise or who else will star in ‘IT’. ‘It’ follows the story of a group of adults who have returned to their home town, where they were tormented as children by bullies and by visions of a killer clown named Pennywise. The seven kids
