‘The Quake’ Is Ready To Shake U.S. Theaters This December

After making waves at Cannes the disaster film The Quake, from the same producers who brought us The Wave, is ready to shake up U.S. theaters this December. In the new trailer, we watch as the lights go out ahead of the moment where buildings begin to crumble around a city. A family struggles to survive as disaster strikes. Directed by Roar Uthaug, The Quake was inspired by a real-life event, the earthquake that shook Oslo in 1904, leaving a trail of utter devastation and took the lives of 145 people. Kristoffer Joner stars alongside, Ane Dahl Torp, and Jonas Hoff Oftebro. Katherine Thorborg Johansen, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, and Ravdeep Singh Bajwa co-star. If you’re a fan of destructions films, this is one you’re not to want to miss. Luckily, you won’t have to wait much longer, The Quake arrives in U.S. theaters and On Demand on December 14, 2018, from Magnolia. Odds are a dubbed version will follow.

‘The Quake’ Leaves Cannes Shaking And Disaster Fans Eager For Its August Release

From the producers of the amazing disaster movie The Wave (review) comes The Quake (aka Skjelvet), acquired by Magnolia Pictures at Cannes. Directed by Roar Uthaug, The Wave, which was labeled the first disaster flick from Norway, was not your average, run-of-the-mill disaster film. Instead of focusing on the physical destruction, it focused more on the emotional turmoil the characters were experiencing. It also didn’t hurt that film looked amazing. Screen Daily has reported that the John Andreas Anderson-directed, $6.4 million project was inspired by a real-life event, the earthquake that shook Oslo in 1904 that took the lives of 145 people. The Wave stars Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Jonas Hoff Oftebro will also be starring in The Quake. Katherine Thorborg Johansen, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, and Ravdeep Singh Bajwa will be co-starring. The Quake will arrive in Norway on August 30, 2018, followed by its US release later this year.

A Review Of The Wave (2016)

Since the day I heard about the Norwegian disaster movie The Wave I have been eagerly awaiting to see it. Last night, I got my chance. Here are my thoughts on The Wave. Don’t worry, there are no major spoilers. The Wave is set in a small village with an amazing view of mountains and bay. Tourists who visit the community may not be aware that a danger is lurking, a landslide triggered a tsunami almost a century ago. Scientist have been watching, they know that at any time it could happen again. When their monitors start registering changes in the mountain they brush it off as a fluke. But one scientist, Kristian (Kristoffer Joner) can’t shake the feeling that a disaster is coming. On the day he and his family are set to leave, the unthinkable happens, and the town’s residents only have 10 minutes to flee. The Wave, written by John Kare Raake and Harald Rosenlow-Eeg, was directed

Catch ‘The Wave’ This March

The trailer for the Norwegian disaster film The Wave has not had a lot of media attention yet here in the states yet, but I think it’s a film you should know about. Scientists have warned the residents in the village of Akneset that another tsunami could happen, but no one thought it would happen any time soon. They were wrong. The village is directly in the path of a 85 meter (279 feet) high wave. A geologist and his young daughter are caught in the middle of the of the chaos. The two are trying to escape the danger zone, along with everyone in the village before it’s to late. The Wave was directed by Roar Uthaug and stars Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Thomas Bo Larsen, Fridtjov Saheim, Jonas Hoff Oftebro, Afrthur Berning, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, Lado Hadzic, Eili Harboe and Herman Bernhoft. The Wave has already been released in Norway and will be released in the U.S. on
