New Line’s Conjuring franchise is expanding once again. The spinoff to The Conjuring 2, The Nun, is moving forward, with production set to begin this May. Director Corin Hardy tweeted a photo yesterday with the caption, “And so it begins…” The film centers on the entity that appears as a nun who stalks Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) in The Conjuring 2. While in the 2016, true-story-inspired, hit features Lorraine battling the nun, the spinoff will come as a prequel, revealing the entity’s backstory. The Nun will be the fifth film in The Conjuring franchise including: The Conjuring, its spinoff Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, and Annabelle 2 which will arrive in theaters on August 11, 2017 from director David F.
