New ‘The Last of Us Part II’ Trailer Reopens Old Wounds For Fans

With The Game Awards coming up on December 10th, game developer and distribution companies, as in tradition, re-release trailers for games that they released that year with the hopes to build hype and snag awards, especially the coveted award for “Game of the Year”. Today, Naughty Dog and PlayStation released a new trailer for one of the contenders seeking the top prize, along with the release of the trailer has come some hate from fans, of course, the game I’m talking about it The Last of Us Part II. The new trailer focuses on the story of the controversial character Abby and its dramatic collision with fan-favorite Ellie’s. The Last of Us Part II is possibly the most controversial game in 2020 due to how fans (over)reacted to the game’s plot involving the character Abby, so much so that fans have sent death threats to the actress playing her, and fans making a petition demanding a remake of the game.

Voice Actress Laura Bailey Threatened By Fans

Last of Us Part II Spoilers Ahead Laura Bailey has quite the extensive resume of voice acting jobs she’s had dating as far back as 1999 ranging from popular Anime dubs to video games but it’s her latest role that has her in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Bailey recently did the voice and motion capture for the character Abby in The Last of Us Part II, Sony and Naughty Dog’s most popular and controversial game in the last couple of years. The main controversy was fan made by the game’s own fanbase due to the character Joel, voice and motion-captured by Voice acting superstar Troy Baker, being killed off in the first hour of the game by Bailey’s character. This has led to fans demanding a remake of The Last of Us Part II for this fact alone. From a storytelling standpoint, the plot mainly centered around the idea of the cycle of vengeance and how that

Fans of ‘The Last Of Us’ Calling For Sequel’s Remake

The biggest game in PlayStation’s powerhouse of exclusives, The Last of Us Part 2 is under fire from none other than its own fan base. Fans have gone from voicing their displeasure of the game in YouTube comments, Twitter, Reddit, and the dark web, and have now put it into action by making petitions aimed at SONY Entertainment demanding a complete remake of the sequel. Without spoiling The Last of Us Part 2, the main gripe many fans have with the game is the absence of Joel, the main protagonist from the first game. But looking through comments made by those signing the petition, as well as the comments from some review bombers, there’s more to their displeasure to the game than a missing character and unfortunately, it’s just flat out bigotry. Both critics and gamers agree that The Last of Us Part 2 has amazing art/graphics, fun gameplay, and great voice acting, when it comes to the story and
