‘State Of Decay 2’ Coming This Month To Xbox One

Undead Labs was credited with making the most realistic zombie survival game, State of Decay back in 2013. Now, fans of the game will be excited to know that State of Decay 2 is coming soon to Xbox One. The story takes place 18 months after the events of the first game; a young woman is taken into the ranks of other survivors who are building a community for survivors. Each character is playable and each has an important set of skills necessary to ensure the survival of the community. You can choose between solo or co-op (up to three players) campaigns in this third-person shooter in an open world environment where you must face both zombies and human enemies all the while trying to find supplies and friendly survivors for your community. Alien: Isolation – A Review

They say in space, no one can hear you scream. Which is most definitely true. However, the same cannot be said for here on Earth. Thanks to this game, I’m pretty sure my neighbours suspect I either scream like a girl, or have one tied up in my murder room. I’ve played quite a few horror games in my day, but few succeed in keeping up the novelty of the scares until the end. Alien: Isolation manages to make this limited list. Developed by Creative Assembly, Isolation takes place 15 years after the original Alien movie, you play as Amanda Ripley – daughter of the iconic Ellen Ripley – as she searches for answers to her mother’s disappearance. Her chance arises when she learns the flight recorder of the Nostromo has been discovered and the ship that found it is currently resting at the space station Sevastopol. So off you go to find some answers about the fate of your

The Infected: Nightfall by Joseph Zuko

This post is about The Infected: Nightfall, the third book in Joseph Zuko’s zombie apocalypse survival series. This time around rather than a review I’m posting a book notice. Why? Well, by a bizarre turn of events I actually ended up editing this one. Since I was part of the project, I can’t review it in good conscience, but I will say that as a fan of the first two books in this series – volume three doesn’t disappoint! This book will not only make your heart race, but will tug on your heart strings as well. Book Description: Jim and Karen Blackmore have discovered that when it comes to the zombie apocalypse, there is no such thing as safety in numbers. Between their separate groups of survivors is a city of the living dead, hungry for flesh and growing in numbers by the minute. As Jim and his newly minted gang of zombie killers fight their way to his

Get Ready To NOCT Your Socks Off

Ever wanted a 2D top-down online multiplayer survival horror? Well, your wish has come true with Noct. Highly stylized and reminiscent of games like Alien Swarm or Hotline Miami, Noct pits you against a dark force, known as Nocturnal, that has wiped out most of human civilization and turned the Earth into a desolate wasteland devoured by darkness. However, the nightmarish beasts conjured by this endless night aren’t the only enemies you will face, as there will be other players to compete with. Sure you can team up with them, but in a world overrun with evil, it’s every person for themselves. Noct switches things up with the way it looks by making it look as though you are watching the scenario through thermal imaging, giving you a fairly limited range of sight that can easily be overwhelmed by the monsters that lurk around corners – and with only one life, you would be wise to explore with caution. Adding

The Infected: Karen’s First Day by Joseph ‘Zombie’ Zuko

You may remember a while back that I reviewed The Infected: Jim’s First Day by Joseph ‘Zombie’ Zuko. The sequel to this book, The Infected: Karen’s First Day is available TODAY 6/13/15 through Amazon. Mr. Zuko was generous enough to send me a copy of the book prior to its release so I could share the details with all of you! Book Description: Raising kids is tough. Keeping them alive as the zombie apocalypse begins is tougher. But that’s exactly what stay-at-home mom Karen needs to do: fight fiercely to keep her young daughters safe as her husband Jim battles his way across the city, so they can escape the carnage together. On the worst day of her life, Karen finds that she will do anything to protect her family, and that the line between life and death has teeth. Originality & Entertainment: 5/5 & 5/5 Unless I’ve been reading books in the wrong circles, I’m fairly certain that I

THEM Episode 1 of Season 1 by M.D. Massey

THEM Episode 1 of Season 1 by M.D. Massey is a self described “paranormal post-apocalyptic thrill ride”. As with Champagne Jackson Kicks Zombie Ass, THEM immediately had some large shoes to fill by virtue of its tagline and book description. Description: THEM: Season 1, Episode 1 Scratch Sullivan is a professional monster hunter eking out a living after the zombie apocalypse. Z hunter, some would say… but he hunts more than just zombies. You see, there are deadlier predators roaming the badlands, where the fallout and some very nasty inhabitants have made it impossible for all but the bravest and most foolhardy to venture. Thing is, Scratch is happy enough with the odd job killing THEM and occasionally shacking up with his on and off girlfriend, Kara. But when a powerful vampire tips him off to a potential invasion of werewolves and zombies into the safe zone he protects, he’s forced to head straight into the heart of the deadlands

Planet Urth (Book 1) by Jennifer & Christopher Martrucci

Planet Urth (Book 1) by Jennifer & Christopher Martucci is different than the majority of the zombie fiction I have reviewed on Zombie Apocalypse Defense Force because it isn’t actually intended to be zombie fiction, but it still is a very interesting, relevant read for zombie fans. The world has changed. It’s dangerous, deadly. Inhuman creatures rule the planet. Animals have mutated. The land is hostile. But it’s all I’ve ever known. Hunger. Fear. Panic. Those emotions are my reality. They are my every day. I am Avery, and I am seventeen. My father died a year ago. Since then I’ve been responsible for my eight-year-old sister, June. I worry we are the only humans left. Humans have been hunted for centuries, to the brink of extinction. I must fight each day to protect my sister. It is the reason I wake, the reason I breathe. But how long can I go on fighting? How long will it be before

Dead Days Season One Episode Two by Ryan Casey

(Pardon the author picture. The only cover image I could find for Episode Two was tiny!) Back in January I reviewed Ryan Casey’s best selling Dead Days Season One, Episode One. He was kind enough to send me a copy of the Dead Days Complete Season One Collection (Books 1-6) that is currently available on Amazon (and a myriad of other retailers) to check out and review. So far I have only gotten through Season One Episode Two, but what a ride! Scene Description: 5/5 I may have said it before, but I’ll say it again. I love Casey’s writing style. The level of detail put into each and every scene really drives whatever emotion or action is featured home. There are truly devastating scenes in Dead Days S1E2, just as there are thrilling action sequences. Although the description is often gory (as zombie fiction tends to mandate…), it is still eloquent and very beautiful. My favorite comparison comes from

American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow

American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow by author John L. Davis IV is the second book in the American Revenant series. If somehow you’ve missed my review of the first book, American Revenant: Hometown Exodus then you need desperately to catch up so that you can read this recently released work of zombie fiction. Synopsis: The story that began in the novella American Revenant: Hometown Exodus continues in this new full length novel! Rejoin Gordon, Mike, Jimmy, and the rest of the group as they fight for survival. Forced to flee their hometown with friends and family, they must find someplace safe, both from their fellow man, and the ravenous dead. Could you Survive? Entertainment: 5/5 This measure was surprisingly difficult to evaluate and put a fixed value on. The reason for this is that American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow alternates frequently between being a somewhat sluggish account of the daily life of modern-day settlers who are trying to establish a

Champagne Jackson Kicks Zombie Ass: An Apocalyptic Horror Novel by F. A. Tallahassee

Champagne Jackson Kicks Zombie Ass, an Apocalyptic Horror Novel, blending Action and Adventure with Thrills and Chills. It’s Armageddon, supernatural stuff is going down and there really is no more room in hell. Our feisty heroine, Champagne Jackson kicks a lot of zombie ass, strings together some choice profanities and learns how to survive the horrors of a world gone mad. She has Marine Sergeant Mike Wilkins along, together with two resourceful Hispanic children, so if they work together, maybe, just maybe, the zombie horde won’t know what’s hit it. Of course, if the walking dead don’t kill you, the living will. There’s the Gravedigger Crew, a powerful black gang run by the man mountain known as Tiny Tyler, together with his lieutenant, Lord Slice, a killer midget, who’s deadly with any edged weapon. Plus there’s the Marauders, a vicious white supremacist outfit who are on the rampage through the new urban wasteland and taking no prisoners. And last, but
