The long running hit series Supernatural returns Wednesday, January 20th with the second half of season 11. When we last saw Sam, his plan to talk to Lucifer, with the help of Crowley and his mother, had back fired in a big way. Sam is locked in the cage with Lucifer with only two choices, stay or say yes to being Lucifer’s vessel. Dean was off dealing with Amara (The Darkness) and a flock of angels, having no clue how much trouble his little brother is in. Now, with both the boys are in tough spots, Sam in the cage and Dean heading to hell to come to Sam’s rescue. This time it may take everyone teaming up to pull off the rescue. In an upcoming episode of season 11 of Supernatural the guys will turn time travelers, returning to a point from back in season 5 with the help of Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) who passed in season 7, and a friend (Rufus). According to TVLine, Beaver will reprise his role as Sam and Dean’s father figure. In the episode Sam and Dean will be working on an old case that Bobby and Rufus investigated back in the day. The last time we saw Bobby was back in episode 16 of season 10 when Bobby and Rufus (Steven Williams) played the Winchester’s “Inside Man” (also the title of the episode) in Heaven. I know I won’t be the only one glad to see Bobby return. He’s a fantastic character and Jim Beaver always does such an amazing job. I only wish we could see him a little more often (Supernatural are listening?). Season 11 of Supernatural premieres on January 20th at 9/8c.

‘Supernatural’ is now the longest running series in the history of The CW. Personally, I hope we still have many seasons left to come. Shows that have such a huge, dedicated following are rare these days and I’ll admit it, I’m a huge ‘Supernatural’ fan, I have been hooked since the beginning. Dean and Sam’s history is complicated, Castiel and Crowley are flawed and when added to the mix makes for a entertaining show that has endless turns and will keep you guessing. Dean spent last season fighting the mark of Cain. Finally,at the end of season 10, the curse of Cain was lifted. Dean kills Death and darkness is unleashed. Last we saw Castiel, he was under a spell driving him to try to kill Crowley. The last moments of the season 10 finale set us up for an action packed start to season 11. The brothers are facing an onslought of evil hidden inside the darkness. This season
