While many people dread the end of the month, I look forward to it. Want to know why? That’s when my HorrorPack subscription box comes in every month. Who wouldn’t look forward to getting four mystery horror Blu-rays? Every month a box arrives filled with 4 Blu-ray or DVD, including one limited edition, or a special movie. June’s box includes: 2010’s James Wan directed hit Insidious, which spawned a franchise. The frightening flick centers on a family who seeks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their child in a realm called “The Further.” Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, and Leigh Whannell star. Who doesn’t love subscription boxes? Monthly goodies delivered right to your front door every month, it’s the best right? Spending so much time home lately, I’ve watched pretty much everything worth watching on streaming networks, so it was great to get the May HorrorPack subscription box. Featuring four Blu-rays, the box includes: The Exorcist III, released in 1990, comes to Blu-ray for the first time. Arguably one of the best horror sequels ever made, the film picks up where the original ends, following Lt. Kinderman (George C. Scott) as he investigates a series of killings. Jason Miller reprises his role from the original film. 2016’s The Forest (review) starring Natalie Dormer whose search for her sister leads her to the suicide forest. It was directed by Jason Zada and written by Nick Antosca and Sarah Cornwell. The box also includes the horror-comedy Bloodsucking Bastards, a side-splitting vampire flick that reminds us the office really can suck the life out of

Let’s be honest, thanks to the pandemic, we’ve all burned through most of the good things to watch on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, and Tubi, so I was thrilled Tuesday to find April’s HorrorPack subscription box sitting on my doorstep. The monthly subscription box contained four Blu-rays, each entertaining in its own way. The 2017 sci-fi horror Life, starring Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rebecca Ferguson. The film follows a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who have discovered a new life form, one which caused the mass extinction on Mars. Now, the crew faces an extinction of its own. A Double Feature: 2-Headed Shark Attack and Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus. Both films are cheesy sci-fi action horror flicks. The HorrorPack Limited Edition Blu-ray Nefarious from director Richard Roundtree, a 2019 film about two groups of people brought together after a botched robbery. The group of criminals get more than they bargained for and must find a way to

Every horror fan has something in common other than their taste in entertainment, they all love adding to their collection. One of the best ways to do that is with the Horror Pack subscription box. I walked out on my porch Friday to find a box sitting in my rocking chair. I knew it had to be the February Horror Pack box, thanks to tracking updates emailed regularly. I got so excited as I opened it, it felt a bit like Christmas morning. The four Blu-rays were wrapped up nice and tight in their factory packages. The movies in the February box includes Drag Me to Hell: The Director’s Cut, one of the best films from Sam Raimi since Evil Dead; there is 2018’s Elizabeth Harvest, a creepy AF flick; The Darkness starring Kevin Bacon was also included along with the Horror Pack Exclusive indie horror Click Bait. All in all, I’m really happy about the selection. Three of the

It’s September and even though the weather may say its still summer, our hearts are in fall. What’s not to love about autumn? Cooler nights, leafs changing colors, pumpkin/apple/maple flavored things, and the fact of knowing that Halloween is around the corner! Also, one thing many people like about fall is all the harvest festivals. As much as I love a traditional harvest festival, it gets kind of boring. Well, BOKKSU was awesome enough to send me a preview of their upcoming Moon Festival box! BOKKSU is a monthly subscription like a lot of those box sites, but this one sends you snacks directly from Japan! Each month the box is themed and for September, the theme is based on the traditional Japanese Moon viewing festival (also known as Tsukimi, Otsukimi, or Jugoya). This year the celebration is on September 13th to the 16th. The festival is to celebrate the arrival of the fall harvest moon and to welcome autumn.
