Justin P. Lange’s new supernatural horror The Seventh Day has just been released. The film follows exorcist Father Peter (Guy Pearce) who teams up with a rookie apprentice for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge. I’ll be honest before I sat down to watch The Seventh Day I had assumed it would be your average exorcism movie, I can now tell you that I was wrong. Seventh Day is far from the exorcism movies we’ve come accustomed to. What we usually get is a movie that’s predictable with a story we feel like we’ve seen a hundred times. Truthfully, we haven’t gotten a really good exorcism movie since The Exorcist III, until now. I have a talent for guessing the way a movie will end, but this movie left me completely surprised and packs one hell of a twist that you

I reviewed Shudder’s Z back in May, so of course, I was excited to get my hands on the Blu-ray a couple of days ago. As I sat down to watch it with a bag of popcorn, I couldn’t help but wonder if the movie would stand up to my original impression and the 5/5 score I gave it. I was wrong to even question it. It turns out, the Blu-ray is even better. The picture is crisp and the sound is great. The story itself is fresh, clever, and absolutely unnerving. A lot of people had an imaginary friend as a kid. Imagine if that friend came back when you were an adult and it is hell-bent on destroying your life by using your innocent child. That’s the premise of Z. The movie follows Elizabeth (Keegan Connor Tracy), a mother whose 8-year-old son has a new playmate, an invisible friend named Z. As her son’s behavior becomes more menacing

The moment I saw the trailer for writer-director Eric Bress’ Ghosts of War I knew that I HAD to see it. Not only is it a horror movie, but it’s also a war movie, two things I’m a sucker for. Are you tired of the same old overly hyped horror movie that promises to be “one of the best movies of the year” only to be a total let a down? Well, that’s not the case with Ghosts of War. It actually is that good. Ghosts of War opens with a haunting quote. This war will not end. With every mile my body and spirit break. Every jolt makes brittle my mind. Each step pulls me further from homeuntil I am the shell of the man that kissed my mother goodbye a forever ago. And I tense endlessly. Not knowing which will arrive first, the bullet that takes my life or my final chance for redemption. – Private First Class

Stephen King and Owen King‘s bestselling 2017 novel Sleeping Beauties is being adapted into a new 10-part graphic novel by Rio Youers (The Forgotten Girl) and Alison Sampson (Winnebago Graveyard). In the thrilling story, “a strange sleeping sickness, known as Aurora, has fallen over the world, and strangest of all, it only affects women. In the small town of Dooling, a mysterious woman has walked out of the woods; she calls herself Eve and leaves a trail of carnage behind her. More mysterious: she’s the only woman not falling asleep.” The graphic novel’s art is incredible, truly frame-worthy. I really hope that at some point the covers are released as a series of posters. I’ve seen several of the covers, take my word for it, they’re gorgeous. If the rest of the series is anything like the first well written and illustrated book, we’re in for something special. But when the name King is involved you already know it’s going
