Russell Crowe Transforms Into Dr. Jekyll In The New Featurette From THE MUMMY

A new sneak peek featurette has been unveiled by Universal Pictures for their remake of The Mummy. In the video we see Russell Crowe transform into Dr. Jekyll as he schools Nick (Tom Cruise) on “evil”. We also see what appears to be a vampire skull, a possible link to Dracula. While Dracula Untold (2014) featured Luke Evans as the famous blood-thirsty character, it bombed, so a new Dracula is in the works. Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters. Tom Cruise (Jack Reacher, Mission Impossible)

Writer Says The Universal Mummy Reboot Is Going To Be Terrifying

The Universal Studio’s Monster shared universe will be kicking off in 2017 with ‘The Mummy‘ reboot. The all-star cast of ‘The Mummy’ includes Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella and Jake Johnson. THR spoke with writer Jon Spaihts (Doctor Strange) about ‘The Mummy’. He revealed that new version will be frightening. I think [there is] a similar desire to legitimately explore the frightening and the comic. In the Mummy, I think we’re going to see the first Mummy film in the entire Universal canon with the true power to terrify. I think that’s going to be the new experience of that film.” ‘The Mummy’ is believed to be safely entombed
