Gillian Anderson Walking Away From Two Roles

Gillian Anderson confirmed rumors Wednesday during the Television Critics’ Association winter press tour that she is walking away from her long celebrated role as Agent Scully on ‘The X-files’. It’s time for me to hang up Scully’s hat. It just is,” she told reporters Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter reports. “I’m finished and that’s the end of that. I arrived at the decision before we did the previous six, but I was really curious. I felt that the previous six was going to be it. It was dipping our toe back in again … and getting to play these wonderful characters again. I think as [series creator] Chris [Carter] has said himself that short stack of episodes felt like we were learning how to walk again and that this season of 10 feels like the pace is up and we’re running. I wouldn’t necessarily have been happy if those six were how we said goodbye,” she added. “There’s lots of things

Part 1 of The X-Files Breakdown Seasons 1 – 3

The X-Files centers around two F.B.I. agents, Fox Mulder, the believer, and Dana Scully, the skeptic. The two spent 9 seasons and 2 major motion pictures investigating the strange and unexplained, all while hidden forces worked to impede their efforts. The X-Files was inspired by shows which featured elements of suspense and speculative fiction. The two could not be more different, Mulder, a firm believer in the paranormal searches for the truth hidden in the government all while continuing his search for his abducted sister, Samantha. Scully, spent years studying to be an MD before changing careers and joining the F.B.I. Scully looks at everything from a scientific standpoint and is originally sent to debunk Agents Mulders work. While she agrees with Mulder through much of the series that certain things can not be explained, her and Mulder’s reasonings always differ. The show offered multiple “monster-of-the-week” type episodes which were loosely based off “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “The Twilight Zone,” and

Horror Fuel’s X-Files Recap to Start January 9th

In honor of the X-Files revival, Fox Television had a pretty cool promotion running to honor a show whose pop culture impact has lasted nearly 22 years, “201 Days of the X-Files.” The promotion was done through social media and required fans to watch one episode a day, in order, until the series revival premier on January 24th. The Official X-Files Instagram and Twitter posted screen grabs with the season name and episode number for the day. While Fox was busy promoting the revival with posters, and teasers, some pretty neat fan art arose from the original “201 Days” promotion. Here is one of my favorites, provided by @201xfdoodles, where a fan drew a “doddle” of each episode. Even Agents Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) had some fun engaging with fans and answering questions during certain episodes. __________________________________ Being a long time fan of The X-files, I decided to play along and re-watch the series. Fox Releases “THE X-FILES – First Look”

Chris Carter explains that the X-Files is back due to fan demand in this exclusive Fox clip! Duchovny (Mulder) and Anderson (Scully), talk more about what it is like to be a fan and have the show come back after nearly 15 years of being off the air. The behind the scenes first look promises that episodes 1 and 6 will be about the original shows mythology, while episodes 2-5 will be “monsters episodes…” Does this mean we will see the two agents chasing spooks across the country like they used to? The X-Files revival premiers on January 24th. Gillian Anderson’s “Show & Tell” X-Files Comes to Blu-Ray

The X-Files finally comes to Blu-Ray

Tomorrow (December 8th), believers will finally be able to hunt spooks with Special Agents Mulder and Scully in glorious high definition as the complete series FINALLY comes to Blu-Ray! While I am personally excited to have finally have this release, I am a little shocked by the sticker price, a whopping $299.99 (WITHOUT tax)! However, Amazon and WalMart.com currently have it listed for $269.99. Don’t feel like spending $300 on this right now? No worries, Netflix updated their version of the X-files to HD with the announcement of the revival earlier this summer, so fans could catch up on all of their favorite episodes before January 24th.
