Over the past few years, the horror genre has continued to grow by leaps and bounds and that trend shows no sign of slowing. With reboots and remakes growing in popularity as well it’s no surprise that genre classics are all on the chopping block. The latest classic to be added to the reboot list is the werewolf classic The Howling. The best part of the news, Andrés Muschietti, the director of IT, will be at the helm for Netflix. Muschietti revealed the news during a Q&A with That HashTag Show following a screening of Underwater. The original 1981 film is an adaptation of the novel by Gary Brander and starred Dee Wallace. It was directed by Joe Dante whose film was not a word for word adaptation. There are no details yet if the new film will be a reboot of the novel or the film, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
