The CW Orders New Pilot For ‘The Lost Boys’ Series

Last year The CW scrapped the Catherine Hardwicke directed pilot for its new series “The Lost Boys“. This week the network order the new retooled pilot directed by Marcos Siega, who also helmed the pilots for CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and Batwoman Deadline reports. The new version of the series, based on the 1987 classic, will have an all-new cast and will not feature original Lost Boys cast members Medalion Rahimi and Dakota Shapiro like the first version of the series planned. Rob Thomas, who co-wrote the new script, explained to Deadline the reason for the retooling. “There were scenes that we thought we could do a better job on, so it’s going through a 40% rewrite,” he said. “It’s not a total rewrite.” No cast members have been announced for the pilot as of yet.

The first season will be set in “1967 Summer of Love Haight-Ashbury”, Thomas said. He also told the site that we might get to see a crossover from the series and the original film. Vampires stay the same age, so those vampires that we meet in the ’80s in the original ‘Lost Boys’ movies could exist in the 1960s version,” Thomas said. “We could run into them there as well. We might not even have to wait until
