Part True Crime, Part Renovation Show, ‘Murder House Flip’ Is Streaming On Roku

There is a lot of true crime series out there, I mean a lot. There’s also a ton of renovation, flip and sale series. But only one show combines them both, “Murder House Flip.” I was browsing the Roku service and stumbled across this neat original series. In “Murder House Flip” co-hosts Joelle Uzyel and Mikel Welch take viewers inside homes where horrific murders have taken place and are now occupied by new residents. First, we get a tour and the cases are discussed. Then the family leaves for a few days while the house is remodeled and redecorated. The goal is to help the homeowner to see the place as their home, not a murder house, but let’s be honest, who could forget something like that? The first season includes the homes of seven killers. And sometimes, the show makes grizzly discoveries on camera, like in season one episode eight, while remodeling the bathroom of the what is the

Roku Acquires The Entire Quibi Library Including Sam Raimi’s “50 States Of Fright”

Last year when the streaming service Quibi called it quits, viewers were left with many questions, including what would happen to many of the popular series? Back in January we first reported that Roku was in negotiations to acquire Quibi’s collection. Today, we can finally report that the deal is official. Roku has bought exclusive global rights to Quibi’s entire library, meaning shows such as Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright” are now being labeled as “Roku Originals.” Other series include “The Expecting,” directed by American Psycho’s Mary Harrow, “The Stranger,” and many more. All of the content will be available on Roku’s free channel. While Roku will air the existing library, they have yet to order new seasons. Deadline reports “More than 75 originals, including a dozen unreleased series, will stream for the first time on The Roku Channel this year,” Hopefully, a release date for the Quibi collection will be announced soon. We’ll keep you posted.

Roku In Negotiations To Acquire Quibi’s Original Library

Back in October of 2020, we reported the sudden and surprising shut down of the streaming network Quibi after less than a year of operation. Subscribes were upset by the loss of Quibi’s original series and were left wondering if they’d ever get to see them again. News has come this morning via Variety that Roku is now in negotiations to acquire the service’s original library. If the deal goes through Roku will add the short-form programming to their ever-expanding service. There is no word yet exactly which programs Roku will be getting but some of the series we are hoping to see are Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright,” “Don’t Look Deeper, “Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue“, the rideshare horror “The Stranger“, “Most Dangerous Game” (Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz), the dark comedy “Flipped” (Will Forte and Kaitlin Olson), and the plane-crash series “Survive” (Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins). We’ll keep you posted.

Quibi Is Pulling The Plug After Just Seven Months

After just seven months, the streaming service Quibi is closing thanks to reportedly low viewership, a horde of technical problems, and a nasty lawsuit, according to the Wall Street Journal. Designed as a service meant to be watched on-the-go on your phone, Quibi was the home of Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright” which explores stories based on urban legends from every state, taking viewers deeper into the horrors that lurk just beneath. This also means that “Don’t’ Look Deeper will end and Tomie from Alexandre Aja will no longer happen, at least not on Quibi. “The Stranger” starring Maika Monroe and Dane DeHaan will also be dead in the water. Quibi really did offer some great series and we’re sad to see them go. We hope that the series and movies all find a new home. There has been no announcement at this time exactly when Quibi will pull the plug, but when they do we’ll let you know.
