New ‘Alien’ Sequel In The Works

On May 25th, Alien celebrated its 40th anniversary. In a writeup from Variety celebrating the anniversary, an interesting tidbit can be found regarding the future of the now Disney owned franchise. After the article mentions the franchise’s prequels, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, it refers to a third film, which Ridley Scott “will direct”. And that the sequel “is in the script phase.” Could this be the long-awaited sequel Alien: Awakening? We don’t know yet, but it seems Scott wants the Xenomorphs to evolve. Okay, it’s dead in the water.’ I think Alien vs. Predator was a daft idea. And I’m not sure it did very well or not, I don’t know. But it somehow brought down the beast. And I said to them, ‘Listen, you can resurrect this, but we have to go back to scratch and go to a prequel, if you like.’ So we go to Prometheus, which was not bad actually. Lead Role Cast In The Sci-fi Thriller Stem From The Creator Of Saw And Insidious

Logan Marshall-Green, best known for his role in Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ and 2016’s ‘The Invitation‘, has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘Stem’, written and directed by Leigh Whannel. You should recognize Whannel’s name, he is the co-creator of the ‘Insidious’ and ‘Saw’ franchises. “The script is set in the near-future when technology controls nearly all aspects of life and centers on a technophobe (Marshall-Green) who sets out to avenge his wife’s murder and his own paralysis-causing injury with the help of an experimental computer chip implant called Stem.” THR reports that Blumhouse is producing in association with Goalpost Pictures Australia. Jason Blum, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Kylie du Fresne will also produce. The movie will begin filming in Whannel’s hometown of Melbourne, Australia this Spring. We will keep you posted as more cast members are announced.

Photos Leaked From Alien: Covenant Reveal Facehuggers, New Alien And More

A few days ago, we reported that ‘Alien: Covenant’ actor Michael Fassbender had revealed the name of the new Xenomorphs, named Neomorphs, and the details that surround the creatures creation. Today, several leaked photos from the film surfaced, via SoIsItAnyGood.com. The images, we fear, won’t be up long due to the spoilers they contain. They are from the actual set, not from a prop room. The photos reveal that Fassbender’s character, the android David from ‘Prometheus’, has been busy collecting specimens while stranded on the planet. They show the new alien, the Neomorph, as well as Facehuggers and eggs. You can view the photos HERE, but be warned they are filled with spoilers. The creatures begin their lives in pods growing on trees, which infect their hosts via their ears and bursts out through their victims’ backs, a twist on the classic Facehuggers. Unlike the classic Xenomorphs, the Neomorphs are white. They are based on an unused concept from ‘Prometheus’.
