Pajamas, popcorn, Netflix, and True Crime…sounds like a great night in, to me. If that sounds like a great way to spend a chilly night to you too, we’ve got your next series to binge, “The Innocent Man”. The series is based on the non-fiction book The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town by John Grisham which documents two murders in the small town of Ada, Oklahoma in the ’80s. In the docu-series directed by Clay Tweel, the residents of the town are interviewed along with the two victim’s friends and family. Evidence and the murders themselves are also examined. As a filmmaker, I often find that the best stories are the ones we tell ourselves, but what surprised me was the extent to which that idea also permeated the criminal justice system. By re-examining these old cases I hope that viewers will identify the biases involved, even their own.” Tweel states. John Grisham, who also makes

Earlier this week I was scrolling through Netflix looking for something to watch. I was hoping to find something dark and interesting. I came across a new series, “Dark Tourist” and it fit the bill. I had no idea just how interesting it would be. The series, currently on the “Trending” list, follows host David Farrier as he travels to dark tourist locations, including many dangerous ones. After binge-watching season one of the show I had to talk to David, luckily, he was willing to answer some questions. “Dark Tourist” takes David to locations like Japan’s Suicide Forest and Fukushima. We watch as he spends time with a killer, he participates in a Voodoo initiation, and he took part in burial rites that include sacrifices and we see a family dig up the dead to pay their respects and to redress them. Now, we have our fingers crossed for a second season. David Farrier wears a lot of hats. He’s

Last year Netflix subscribers became borderline-obsessed with the docu-series Making A Murderer. The series explored the the arrest and conviction of Steven Avery. Avery, convicted of murder, still insists that he is innocent. When the series ended people were left wanting more. His arrest came just after his release, serving 18 years wrongfully convicted of rape and attempted murder. People theorize that he was framed for the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005 as retaliation for a lawsuit totaling $36 million against Manitowoc County, its sheriff, and its district attorney for his wrongful conviction. Today, Netflix announced that there will be a second season of Making A Murderer is in the works. The new episodes will look closer at Avery and his co-defendent, Brendan Dassey and their legal teams who are fighting to over turn the convictions. The toll of the trial and the sentencing of both men and their loved ones will also be examined. The second season will
