Once the series is complete, one or more are likely to become a feature film. In an interview Blomkamp gave us a little taste of what Lima is about. That is the final piece coming out from this first batch.” The film, which longer than the other films in The Oats Studios Volume 1 collection, will explore “the ideas of multinational corporations, secret government programs and failed scientific experiments”. The good news is, the director announced back in April that he and his Banner, Oats Studios, would be releasing a series of experimental short films via Stream. Now, the trailer for Volume 1 is here and it is fantastic. In the trailer we see our world taken over by aliens and humanity fighting for survival. The new reality is adapt or die. If you watch closely, you will even get a quick glimpse of Sigourney Weaver, that’s right, Ripley herself. There is no word as to when the shorts will premiere, but you are not going to want to miss them, especially if you’re a fan of Blomkamp, Weaver, the Alien franchise, and sci-fi.

Neill Blomkamp’s Alien V Put On Hold

‘District 9’ director Neill Blomkamp announced last night via Twitter that his untitled ‘Alien 5’ sequel has been put on hold indefinitely. Which isn’t all that surprising, the film seemed to have struggled since it was first announced. The film, meant to be the sequel to ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens’ will remain in limbo until at least 2017, while Blomkamp moves onto other projects. This means that his film will not be shot until after Ridley Scott’s new sequel to ‘Aliens’ is released. Scott is now prepping to shoot his sequel ‘Aliens: Paradise Lost‘ in January of 2016. It is a shame that Blomkamp’s film has been stalled, the concept art that has released looks amazing. In the mean time Blomkamp will be serving as producer for the upcoming film ‘The Leviathan’, among other projects. ‘The Leviathan’, directed by Ruairi Robinson, is set in the not so distant future, in a world where mankind has harnessed the power of faster than
