Review: The “American Horror Stories” Premiere Feels Too Familiar

The AHS spin-off “American Horror Stories” has now premiered and is available on both FX and Hulu, and we’ve got thoughts. In the premiere, titled “Rubber(wo)Man”, a young woman (Sierra McCormick) and her two dads (Matt Bomer and Gavin Creel )move into the infamous “Murder House” from season one of “AHS.” Her dark killer instinct comes out as she discovers the gimp suit worn by Tate. You may remember that anyone who dies inside the house, has their spirit trapped there forever, that’s key to the story as the body count quickly rises in the premiere. “American Horror Stories” has been described as delving into “myths, legends, and more.” But we see none of that in the premiere. What we get is kill after kill that feels too familiar. It’s just like another episode of “Murder House,” but with a female serial killer instead of Tate. I can’t say I’m impressed. Much of Ryan Murphy’s “AHS” and “American Horror Stories”

Part True Crime, Part Renovation Show, ‘Murder House Flip’ Is Streaming On Roku

There is a lot of true crime series out there, I mean a lot. There’s also a ton of renovation, flip and sale series. But only one show combines them both, “Murder House Flip.” I was browsing the Roku service and stumbled across this neat original series. In “Murder House Flip” co-hosts Joelle Uzyel and Mikel Welch take viewers inside homes where horrific murders have taken place and are now occupied by new residents. First, we get a tour and the cases are discussed. Then the family leaves for a few days while the house is remodeled and redecorated. The goal is to help the homeowner to see the place as their home, not a murder house, but let’s be honest, who could forget something like that? The first season includes the homes of seven killers. The Witches Are Back In New “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” Trailer

“American Horror Story” fans couldn’t be more excited for this season’s “Murder House” and “Coven” crossover. We’ve seen a horde of teaser trailers released teasing what’s to come, but today, the first real teaser trailer has arrived! Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, and the ever-enchanting Stevie Nicks return alongside Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner, and Adina Porter. Jeffery Bowyer-Chapman and Kyle Allen will co-star. Cody Fern is set to star as Tate’s son, Michael Langdon, from “Murder House” who is all grown up.
