Movie Review: Demigod, A Twist On The Cerunnos Myth

From award-winning filmmaker, Miles Doleac comes a new tale of terror, Demigod, a macabre twist6 on the Cernunnos myth. In this supernatural tale, Robin (Rachel Nichols) and her boyfriend Leo (Yohance Myles) journey to her grandfather’s cabin after he passes away. After the couple encounters a hunter (Doleac) and his daughter they return to the comfort of the cabin and its warm fireplace, and soon fall asleep not knowing that a backwoods cult will soon take them. The couple, the hunter and his daughter, along with several others are taken to the heart of the forest where they will be released and hunted by a demigod. First, when are people going to learn to stay away from cabins in the woods? We’ve seen it a lot. Luckily, the film doesn’t feature many other tropes so we’ll let it slide this time. The story itself is unique and manipulates its environment around the story, not the other way around, turning its

Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios Company has acquired director Miles Doleac’s macabre riff on the Cernunnos myth, Demigod, and will release it in theaters and on streaming services this October. Directed and co-written by Doleac and Michael Donovan Horn, Demigod stars Rachel Nichols (Continuum, Star Trek) and was produced by Doleac, James Victor Bulian, Lindsay Anne Williams, and Wesley O’Mary, the same team behind 2020’s The Dinner Party. The film tells the story of a woman (Nichols), who travels with her husband (Yohance Myles) to Germany’s Black Forest upon learning that her huntsman grandfather has died and left her all his worldly possessions. Upon arrival, a terrifying secret forces her to reckon with her family’s past and a mysterious ritual she thought was the stuff of fairy tales. I’m extremely grateful to Jeff Cooper and to Gravitas for their belief in this film’s potential. From its infancy, I knew this was a film that I wanted seen on the

Miles Doleac Talks Dinner Parties, Cannibalism, And So Much More In Our Interview

Back in 2016 I sat down with actor-writer-director Miles Doleac to talk about several of his films in an interview. With the upcoming release of his film The Dinner Party I thought it was fitting to catch up with him to talk about the film as well as what he’s been up to the last four years. In The Dinner Party, a couple is invited to an exclusive dinner party, not knowing that they are on the menu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh0XXNbdyjI[/embedyt] Horror Fuel: “It’s been a while since we got the chance to catch up. What have you been up to?” Miles Doleac: “I’m teaching at Loyola University in New Orleans, the film program there, which is a great gig. I’ve been gearing up for the release of The Dinner Party. I’ve also been juggling a couple of other projects, one of which I was supposed to do this summer, but now, with COVID, of course, that’s up on the air. But,

Movie Review: ‘The Dinner Party’ Is Sophisticated Horror With A Twist

As elegant as it is disturbing, the indie horror film The Dinner Party invites viewers to witness a gathering they’ll never forget. From director and star Miles Doleac who co-wrote the film along with Michael Donovan comes the film that follows a playwright and his wife who have been invited to a dinner at a patron’s home. What the couple doesn’t know is that they’re on the menu. As always, Doleac’s films continue to please. The Dinner Party has an heir of sophistication and beauty but also the intensity and horror that will keep viewers intrigued. The cast of The Dinner Party includes Doleac, Jeremy London, Bill Sage, Sawandi Wilson, Lindsay Anne Williams, Alli Hart, and Mike Mayhall who did wonderfully in their roles, especially our heroine played by Hart who captures both innocence and strength. The Dinner Table takes a stab at the elite, bringing the thought that the affluent can get away with murder, and often do. It
