Graphic Novel Review: Membrane: Book One By Michael Broom

When I received Michael Broom‘s debut graphic novel “Membrane” I was extremely excited. You see, I’ve been following Broom’s social media accounts since I interviewed him back in 2017 about his work with KNB and on “The Walking Dead”. The incredible artist has been teasing the graphic novel and his children’s book “Sky Rats” and its sequel for a while. I’m glad to finally have the book in hand. I Put A Spell On You; A Look At Witches…

What would Halloween be without witches? Let’s face it, they are the true face of Halloween besides that grinning gourd you stick a candle in on your porch. Well, your next door neighbor who is sick of your dog pooping on their Sunday paper could be just as guilty as that. And, you may want to burn them at the stake to teach them the error of their ways too. So are you a witch with dark purpose in mind now too? That’s the thing about people, they all perceive evil in their own way. It is also said that ignorance is bliss and as noted in the Judeo Christian bible, knowledge is evil. This brings us to a person who many believe

Special effects master, storyboard and concept artist, and comic book creator Michael Broom took the time to answer a few questions about his career and the creatures he has created. You might not know it, but you have seen Broom’s creations many times. He has worked on a number films including The Mist, The Cabin in the Woods, The Thing (2011), The Crazies, Jennifer’s Body, Predators, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, R.I.P.D, and Lost Boys: The Tribe, as well as series like AMC’s mega hit The Walking Dead, and MTV’s Teen Wolf. Horror Fuel: “What got you interested in Special effects, makeup, and creature design?” Broom: “I grew up in the heyday of the Monster Renaissance. Star Wars, Alien, JAWS all came about around the same time. Couple that with TV showings of
