Manson Movie ‘Charlie Says’ Coming To Theaters And VOD

Ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Manson Family Murders this August, director Mary Harron explores the family and Charles Manson’s hold over the women who committed those terrible killings in the film Charlie Says. Years after the shocking murders that made the name Charles Manson synonymous with pure evil, the three women who killed for him—Leslie Van Houten (Hannah Murray), Patricia Krenwinkel (Sosie Bacon), and Susan Atkins (Marianne Rendón)—remain under the spell of the infamous cult leader (Matt Smith). Confined to an isolated cellblock in a California penitentiary, the trio seems destined to live out the rest of their lives under the delusion that their crimes were part of a cosmic plan—until empathetic graduate student Karlene Faith (Merritt Wever) is enlisted to rehabilitate them. Convinced the prisoners are not the inhuman monsters the world believes them to be, Karlene begins the arduous process of breaking down the psychological barriers erected by Manson. But are the women ready to confront

Matt Smith In Talks To Play Charles Manson In ‘American Psycho’ Director’s ‘The Family’

On the heels of the news we reported this weekend that Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Manson film, comes news for another film involving the infamous cult leader Charles Manson. Word first came last year that American Psycho director Mary Harron and Guinevere Truner were teaming up once again, this time for The Family, “An examination of the infamous Manson Family murders through the eyes of graduate student Karlene Faith as she works with three young, brainwashed women who were part of the cult.” Today, Tracking Board is reporting that the film is finally moving forward with production set to begin in Los Angeles this March. The site also stated that currently, ‘Doctor Who’ actor Matt Smith is in talks to play the role of a real American psycho, Charles Manson. That’s not all, the site is also saying that Hannah Murray (Detroit) is in talks to play Manson family member Leslie Van Houten and

‘XX’ A Horror Movie By Women For Women

A talented group of women have come together to make a female driven horror anthology, ‘XX’. The short films were written and directed by Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body), Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance), Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured) and ‘American Psycho’ writer Mary Harron. ‘XX’ is comprised of four short films tied together by a common element. Sofia Carrillo (La Casa Triste) will be creating the scenes in between the segments, as well as the beginning sequence. Women make up half of the fans of the horror genre, but it’s rare that a movie is made with women in mind. ‘XX’ will be made by women, for women. The cast and synopsis are yet to be released, but with such a talented group of writers I expect ‘XX’ will be a great movie. We will see ‘XX’ released some time in 2016.
