Lights Out And An Irresponsible Message About Depression.

What most people don’t know about clinical depression is quite a lot. I have personally been diagnosed with it, and yet I am in no way an expert about its biological intricacies. What I do know and what I can tell you is that clinical depression is not equivalent to simple sadness. So to tell a person who suffers from any clinical form of depression to “try and cheer up”, “do something fun to get your mind off things”, or any number of other suggestions that have nothing to do with fixing brain chemistry or psychological trauma, is frankly dismissive and unhelpful. What is helpful, is for those who do suffer from a form of clinical depression to seek treatment. If you have followed me this far, I sincerely thank you, my Little Monsters. I promise I will tie Lights Out to my spiel, but if you haven’t seen it…be warned, there are SPOILERS ahead. The basic premise of Lights

Lights Out Made Me Want To Leave The Lights On – A Spoiler Free Review

Normally, when a movie is being hailed “the best horror movie” months before its theatrical debut, I wonder two things: is the movie that good, or does it just have a lot of big names and a great PR team. ‘Lights Out’ is one of those movies. Months before it opened in theaters the buzz was that it was going to be the best horror film of 2016. But is it? Directed by David F. Sandberg and co-written by Eric Heiseerer, the film is based on the short film by the same name by Sandberg. With horror master James Wan producing the film, it had my attention from the moment it was announced (I am huge fan of Wan). Living in rural Georgia and the closest theater being over an hour’s drive away, I had to wait till ‘Lights Out’ was released on DVD to check it out. Last night, I finally had the chance to see it for myself.

Lights Out Getting A Sequel

James Wan is now one of the leading names in horror. The incredibly talented writer/director/producer is responsible for four great franchises, The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle (the sequel is filming now) and Saw. Now, he’s adding a fifth franchise to the list. While his latest film, Lights Out is still in theaters, it has already been granted a sequel. The supernatural thriller did great during last week’s opening weekend, grossing over $60 million globally, 12 times its budget. Lights Out, based on the short film by the same name, was penned by Eric Heisserer, who will return for the sequel, Deadline reports. David F. Sandberg will be back to direct the sequel after he wraps filming Wan’s Annabelle 2. Lawrence Gray will produce. The film centers on Rebecca, a young woman who thought she left her childhood fears behind her. Growing up, she never was really sure what was real and what wasn’t when the lights went out. Now, her little

‘The 5th Wave’ Is Invading Theaters This January

‘Ray Donovan’ actor Liev Schreiber stars along side Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass), Maika Monroe (The Guest) , Maggie Siff (Sons of Anarchy), Maria Bello (Demonic) and ‘The Conjuring’s’ Ron Livingston in ‘The 5th Wave’, the biggest alien invasion film of 2016. In ‘The 5th Wave’ a deadly alien invasion begins on Earth. With each wave the attack worsens and body count rises. Cassie (Moretz) is desperate to find her little brother after they are separated during one of the waves, before it’s too late. J. Blakeson is the direct for this epic invasion movie, which is based on the novel by the same name written by Rick Yancey. Susannah Grant adapted the novel for the sceenplay. Judging by the trailer, the film has some seriously awesome effects and a great cast. Normally I’m not big on alien movies, but I am really looking forward to seeing this one. ‘The 5th Wave’ will invade theaters in January of 2016.
