The American Family Association Calls For The Cancellation Of ‘Lucifer’
‘Lucifer’, set to premier on FOX in 2016, is having a Hell of a time dealing with The American Family Association and the One Million Moms branch of the heavily conservative and religious group. The two groups are calling for the early cancellation of the series. They claim that ‘Lucifer’ glorifies Satan, violence and sex. The show depicts Lucifer as a handsome man with a British accent who aids the police department after a his friend is gunned down in front of a nightclub. The groups have opened a petition that stands at around 120,000 signatures as of now, along with a boycott of FOX. Neil Gaiman, who created ‘Sandman’ the graphic novel that ‘Lucifer’ was based on had this to say about the nonsense. “Ah, it seems like only yesterday (but it was 1991) that the “Concerned Mothers of America” announced that they were boycotting ‘Sandman’ because it contained Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans characters.
