Chucky Is Ready To Slash His Way Into Theaters In First Real Image From ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot

After months of teasing and waiting we finally have our first real look at the Child’s Play reboot. In the new art, we see Buddi, the new Chucky doll. While he does look similar to the classic doll we’ve come to love and fear. First, you’ll notice the doll’s bigger eyes, then its sleeker look. Orion and MGM have teamed up for the Child’s Play reboot with Polaroid director Lars Klevberg in the director’s chair. Originally known as “The Good Guy Doll” the red-headed killer has been rebranded as “Buddi”, an A.I. doll vastly different from the original talking doll. The movie follows “(Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Gabrial Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.” Beatrice Kitsos (“The Exorcist”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), and Ty Consiglio also star in the film written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury). Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are producing under their KatzSmith Productions banner. Aaron Schmidt

Mark Hamill Is The New Voice Of Chucky!

Since the moment we first learned that Brad Dourif, the longtime voice of Chucky, wouldn’t be voicing the possessed doll in the Child’s Play reboot we’ve wondered who would take his place. That question was answered yesterday during Orion’s panel at WonderCon. So who is the new voice of Chuck? It’s none other than Stars Wars actor Mark Hamill! While Hamill seems like an odd choice, he has have had some impressive voice roles in video games, radio dramas, and animated films including DC’s the Joker in 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series. In our hearts, Dourif will always be Chucky. But I have to admit, I’m curious to see how Hamill’s version of Chucky will turn out. With Polaroid director Lars Klevberg in the director’s chair, Chucky will make his return to theaters this June. But that’s not all, Chucky’s getting a makeover and a new name. Originally known as “The Good Guy Doll” the red-headed killer has been rebranded

Chucky Looks Like A Brand New Doll In The First Look At The ‘Child’s Play’ Remake

The first look at the Child’s Play remake is here and one thing is for sure, ole Chucky looks like a brand new doll. Filming has already begun on the remake from MGM and Orion, directed by Lars Klevberg. It will feature a new take on the killer doll that we all know and love. How different will the remake be? Not only does Chucky look different, but he will also sound different since Brad Dourif, who has long voiced the possessed doll, won’t be voicing the new version. Chucky‘s getting an upgrade. It’s been said that there will be robotic aspects to the doll which may be hacked and made to kill. Here’s another thing, creator, writer, and director Don Mancini has ZERO to do this flick. It will also have nothing to do with the original franchise which is still alive and well. Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2) wrote the script for the remake starring Aubrey Plaza

Collider is reporting that “Legion” actress Aubrey Plaza and two time Emmy nominee “Atlanta” actor Brian Tyree Henry have both entered negotiations to star. Sources are reporting that Plaza will play a mother and Henry a detective. IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce under the banner of their KatzSmith Productions company. Aaron Schmidt will serve as executive producer. ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot To Be Extremely Different From What We Know And Love

For a moment we were kind of excited about the upcoming Child’s Play reboot from MGM, that is until we learned just how different the movie will be from what we know and love about the franchise, Brad Dourif, the longtime voice of Chucky, won’t be involved. That’s right, Chucky will be getting a new voice. The changes don’t stop there, allegedly, Chucky will no longer be a serial killer possessed doll, instead, he will be an out of control A.I., according to Bloody Disgusting. Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) has been tapped to direct the reboot based on the script penned by Kung Fury writer Burton Smith. While horror fans are pretty open-minded, I don’t think they’re that open minded. I’ll be honest, the movie might be more successful if they were to rename the bot and break ties to the franchise altogether. Luckily, we will see Universal continue the original franchise. There is currently a “Child’s Play” series in pre-production
