Movie Review: The Nun

In The Conjuring 2, we watched as Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed (Patrick Wilson) go head to head with Valik, a dark entity who appears in the form of an evil nun. In The Nun, which arrived on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, we witness the origin story of Valik. Father Burke (Demián Bichir) is tasked by the Vatican with investigating the suicide of a nun and the dark goings-on at a remote abbey in Romania. Father Burke is assigned a companion for his journey, young Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga). Once they arrive they are taken to the abbey by the young man (Jonas Bloquet) who discovered the sister’s decaying body, still hanging by the neck. The three set out to uncover the secrets that the ancient convent holds. I was more than excited and raced right to the movie section of my local Wal-Mart to snag a copy. After waiting all day the night set in and I snuggled into

Was The Set Of ‘The Nun’ Haunted?

At this past weekend’s SDCC new footage from Corin Hardy‘s upcoming Conjuring spin-off, The Nun was shown, unfortunately, it hasn’t made its way on to the internet yet. But that’s not all, during The Nun panel, Hardy recounted a creepy story about a Romain Castle and some paranormal activity experienced during filming. He went into more details during a conversation with Cinema Blend. Was the set of The Nun haunted? Hardy seems to think so. According to the filmmaker… We were shooting in a real Romanian fortress… it was used to store weapons… like an old bunker,” Hardy told Cinema Blend. “Everyone was a bit unnerved by it. Pitch dark tunnels you could get lost in. So when we shot this sequence… it was called the corridor of crosses, and it was a two hundred foot long corridor… deep, dark, dank. Where I was situated, I had to be out of camera shot, so I was in one of these
