Ten Years After Its Release, ‘Chronicle’ Is Getting A Sequel

Back in 2012, the hit found-footage sci-fi horror flick Chronicle premiered and made a killing at box offices. Now, ten years later, it’s getting a sequel. Earlier this week producer John Davis (Jungle Cruise) spoke with Forbes and revealed that Chronicle 2 is currently in the works and promises that it will be from a fresh point of view. Chronicle was literally the best return on investment, any of my movies ever made. Chronicle we did for $12 million, and it grossed $126.64 million worldwide. Then it had a huge afterlife in syndication. It’s one of the most financially successful movies in my stable. We’re working on Chronicle 2 right now, and I think it’s going to be great,” Davis said. “We’re working on it at Fox (20th Century Studios). It’s going to give us a chance to tell the story in a different way. We’re going to tell it from the female point of view. It will have been

Producers Of New Predator Movie ‘Skull’ Reveal New Details

There have been rumors about the new upcoming Predator movie, Skull since the news broke back in 2020. The producers, John Davis and John Fox have now confirmed some of the details. The two recently told Collider that the film, which is already “three-quarters of the way through” production, will be a “Predator origin story” about “the Predators’ first journey to this planet.”According to Fox, “it actually has more akin to The Revenant than it does any film in the Predator canon.” It’s rumored that the film will be set hundreds of years in the past and centers on Native Americans before the territories were taken by the American settlers and will feature a First Nations cast. But that has yet to be confirmed. Dan Trachtenberg is in the director’s chair and has been working on the project in secret for the past four years. Patrick Aison penned the script. The release date has yet to be announced, but as

American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow

American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow by author John L. Davis IV is the second book in the American Revenant series. If somehow you’ve missed my review of the first book, American Revenant: Hometown Exodus then you need desperately to catch up so that you can read this recently released work of zombie fiction. Synopsis: The story that began in the novella American Revenant: Hometown Exodus continues in this new full length novel! Rejoin Gordon, Mike, Jimmy, and the rest of the group as they fight for survival. Forced to flee their hometown with friends and family, they must find someplace safe, both from their fellow man, and the ravenous dead. Could you Survive? Entertainment: 5/5 This measure was surprisingly difficult to evaluate and put a fixed value on. The reason for this is that American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow alternates frequently between being a somewhat sluggish account of the daily life of modern-day settlers who are trying to establish a

Author Interview: John L. Davis of American Revenant Series

I’m doing something a bit different this week. Rather than posting a book review, I’m sharing an interview I had the opportunity to do for Gores Truly with author John L. Davis of the American Revenant series. He agreed to chat with me regarding the American Revenant series, and offered to give us some insight into himself, his process, and what we can expect from this shining new author in the future. If you are unfamiliar with Davis’ work, you can find a review of his debut novel American Revenant: Hometown Exodus. The series is set in Hannibal, MO and features a community of people who band together to survive a zombie apocalypse. It is honestly one of the best zombie series’ I’ve had the pleasure of reading in a long time, and I would encourage you to check it out if you haven’t. American Revenant: Hometown Exodus and American Revenant: Settlers and Sorrow are both available for Kindle download.

American Revenant: Hometown Exodus

American Revenant: Hometown Exodus by John L. Davis IV is, without a doubt, my favorite zombie book of the year. That’s basically it, all I have to say. I’ll elaborate more, but that’s the take home message. At $0.99 (that’s ninety-nine cents USD) you can’t afford to not own this book if you’re serious about zombie fiction. …Okay, so you know me better than to assume that I was actually done, but the point is that I could be. I’ll give you the tldr version first: This novel hits the ground running with enough action to keep me actively engaged from the first few pages on. There was never a dull moment, either in terms of what was going on, or in terms of the word choices that Davis used. The dialogue between characters is realistic and seamless, unlike the extended monologues or useless banter-driven conversations that frequently are used to kill time or narrate occurrences in place of actual
