Alexandre Aja’s Making An Interactive Horror Movie

Alexandre Aja‘s creature feature Crawl is currently baring its teeth in theaters. It appears that the director isn’t wasting any time, he has already found his next project. It’s a “haunted house” movie, according to Collider. The currently untitled movie was written by Aja, Nick Simon (The Girl in the Photographs), and Jeff Howard who was behind Netflix’s huge hit series “The Haunting of Hill House.” Aja is taking an interesting approach, it will be an interactive movie, think “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.” To achieve the movie Aja and Amblin are partnering with Kino Industries’ CtrlMovie tech. The viewer at theaters will be able to vote on the direction and narrative the story takes. For those watching at home, they will be able to influence the storyline via a phone app. We’ll update you when we know more.

Fit To Be Tied? Stephen King and Netflix Have Got You Covered

As is the way with many Stephen King fans, I sit awaiting the big screen adaptations of IT and The Dark Tower with feverish anticipation. However, my Little Monsters, we mustn’t allow ourselves become too distracted by large menacing clowns or allow that dark tower cast too large a shadow over other King adaptations that are coming to smaller screens. One such adaptation is for his 1992 novel, Gerald’s Game, which will be released exclusively on Netflix sometime this year. This adaptation was directed by Mike Flanagan, based on a script he wrote with Jeff Howard. The movie stars Bruce Greenwood, as Gerald Burlingame and Carla Gugino, as Jessie Burlingame , and features a supporting cast that includes Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Carel Struycken, and Chiara Aurelia. Gerald’s Game tell the story of Gerald and Jessie Burlingame who, on a warm October Day, decide to take a trip to their summer home. Their love life having become, shall we say

Before I Wake Pulled From Release

We hate to be the barer of bad news (we really), but the nightmarish film ‘Before I Wake’ has been pulled from release. At the moment there is no word if another date has been set. ‘Before I Wake’ is from Relativity Media and director Mike Flanagan, who co-wrote the film with Jeff Howard. It premiered at this past July’s Fantasia Film Festival and had been set for a September 9th release date. Starring Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane, Annabeth Gish, Dash Mihok and Jacob Tremblay, ‘Before I wake’ follows a young couple who have lost their young son. They agree to foster Cody, a sweet 8-year-old boy who is terrified to sleep. Soon, the couple learns that whatever the boy dreams manifests into reality, including his nightmares. While his dreams create beautiful, amazing things, his nightmares bring to life terrifying visions and dark entities. To save their new family the couple must uncover the truth behind Cody’s nightmares before it’s

A Sequel To ‘Ouija’ Is In The Works

‘Oculus’ writers Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard are set to pen the sequel to the 2013 paranormal horror ‘Ouija’, which Mike Flanagan directed. Flanagan and Howard ‘Ouija’ follows five teenagers, who have used a Ouija board to reach out to their friends, who supposedly committed suicide. The group accidentally unleashes a vengeful spirit. ‘Ouija’ stars Oivia Cooke and Daren Kagasoff. According to an article by Deadline, the sequel will have a plot that mirrors that of the first movie. ‘Ouija’ did not get rave reviews, so I can’t help but wonder why they would go with the same story twice. It is still early in preproduction, so the story may change. The director and cast have yet to be announced, but Michael Bay and Jason Blum of Blumhouse have already been listed as two of the sequel’s producers. ‘Ouija 2’ is set to be released October 21st of next year. The trailer for ‘Ouija’ (2014)
