The Grudge Is Getting A New American Sequel

Takashi Shimizu’s 2000 film Ju-On brought Japanese horror to the main stream worldwide and by 2004 we had an American remake. Sam Raimi produced The Grudge, which was followed by two sequels. The Japanese franchise has now reached eight films in total and currently we are waiting on the release of Sadako vs. Kayako (The Ring vs. The Grudge) this June. Now, news has come that a new American sequel to The Grudge franchise is coming our way. So far, details are slim, but the film has been described as a reboot of the franchise but not quite a remake and will tell a new story. I know, that sounds a little confusing. Casting Has Begun For Pet Sematary’s Reboot

In 1989, Mary Lambert created a horror classic when she directed the movie adaption of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. This past July we reported that Pet Sematary was boarding the remake train. The project is now moving forward with 28 Weeks Later director Carlos Fresnadillo at the helm, working off of a script he co-wrote with Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train). During an interview with Dread Central Buhler gave an update about the status on their reboot. “They are currently out to cast, and they are going for some bigger names, so it’s taking some time.” He did not mention any names, but it does sound as if they’re going big.” Last year Buhler told Dread Central that “The characters in this script make some tragic decisions. There are still the supernatural aspects of the book, with the pet cemetery and the burial ground from which things come back from the dead, but the real horror is, what do

Paramount Has Ordered The Reboot Of ‘Pet Sematary’

The latest horror film to join the long list of remakes/reboots is the classic film, ‘Pet Sematary’. ’28 Weeks Later’ director Jaun Carlos Fresnadillo will be directing the reboot of ‘Pet Sematary’, which was based on the Stephen King novel by the same name. Jeff Buhler, who penned ‘The Midnight Meat Train’, wrote the script for the new version. The new version of the 1989 classic will focus more on the family’s emotional aspect of the story. Buhler has made the comments that this film will be very different than the classic, but will still retain certain events. Right now the reboot is in early preproduction and is waiting budget approval from Paramount, but they hope to start filming at the end of this year. Buhler My question to Paramount, why? ‘Pet Sematary’ is already the best it could possibly be. I hear romantic comedies could use some work, go reboot their movies and leave us horror fans alone to
