Apple TV+ Renews Sci-Fi Series “Invasion” For A Second Season

Today, Apple TV+ announced that it has renewed “Invasion” for a second season. The news arrives ahead of the epic finale episode of season one, which will premiere globally this Friday, December 10th, on Apple TV+. The character-driven science fiction drama series is from Academy and Emmy Award-nominee Simon Kinberg (“X-Men” films, “Deadpool” films, “The Martian”) and David Weil (“Hunters”). Set across multiple continents, “Invasion” follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. The series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, Shioli Kutsuna, Firas Nassar, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Tara Moayedi, Daisuke Tsuji, and Sam Neill. I’m profoundly grateful to Apple for being so supportive every step of the way, and trusting us to make a deeply human, emotional alien-invasion story. And most of all I’m thankful to our amazing fans, without whom we wouldn’t have this opportunity to continue the invasion. I’m super excited about what we’re planning for season two, expanding our universe in the most intimate

Poisonous Toad Population Explodes In South Florida

Residents in South Florida are witnessing what looks like a scene from a B-movie, thousands of little toads hopping around all over the place. Large swarms of toads are darting across roads, clogging pool filters, invading gardens, and hanging out in yards in droves. May sound silly to worry about but the residents have a right to, these are not common toads, these are Cane Toads. These Invasive (not native) amphibians are named after the sugar cane fields they should be hanging out in down in South America. What makes them different than other toads in North America is their size, and that they’re highly toxic. The poison glands on the back of its head are the largest in the toad species and capable of killing larger animals, they are known to kill crocodiles in Australia. It’s not just the adult toads that are poisonous, their tadpoles are as well! In Florida, those most at risk of being poisoned by

Sigourney Weaver Again Battles Otherworldly Menace In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Rakka’

After Neill Blomkamp‘s failed attempt at adding a fifth installment to the ‘Alien’ franchise, the visionary sci-fi director announced the creation of his own film production company, Oats Studios. The first offering from the studio is the short ‘Rakka’, a gritty, post-apocalyptic alien invasion film set in the near future. The film opens somewhere in Texas, in the year 2020. From the outset, each frame absolutely oozes an ultra-bleak, dystopian atmosphere. The world as we know it is no more; in its place is a brutal hellscape in which nearly all of humanity (well, what’s left of it anyhow) is enslaved by a barbaric, if highly advanced species of reptilian extraterrestrials. The aliens erect monolithic mega structures used to generate an atmosphere suitable for their crops and breathing needs, and treat humans as test subjects, or pests to be eliminated. Though primitive in appearance, the aliens seem to possess telekinetic and telepathic abilities, allowing them to use mind control to

“Welcome to the family!” A look at Jordan Barker’s “Torment”

“When one has not had a good father, one must create one.” – Friedrich Nietzsche 2014’s “Torment” follows two newlyweds (Cory and Sarah) who take a much needed family vacation in order for Cory’s son, Liam, to get to know his new wife. The boy soon vanishes and Sarah and Cory must confront an evil, sadistic family who have kidnapped the boy for themselves! The first 5 minutes of the film are really quiet thrilling! You are shown an old home in the middle of nowhere, and are put into the middle of an awkward family moment. The family ends up seperating, and right from the start we are given 3 very promising kills! One of these kills even mimics a very important death scene in the first Halloween film as a teen puts on a pair of headphones and has no idea what is coming her way. “Torment” stars Katharine Isabelle, Robin Dunne, and Peter DaCunha, who stars as
