Wales Interactive, Red and Black Films, Good Gate Media and Little Jade Productions are delighted to announce that The Complex – a completely live-action, interactive sci-fi thriller filmed in the UK, is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Following “Black Mirror’s” ‘Bandersnatch’ and BAFTA-winning game Late Shift – the film was written by Lynn Renee Maxcy, part of the Emmy award-winning writing team from “The Handmaid’s Tale” and is the very first live interactive Science Fiction film and one of only a small number of interactive films in existence. Directed by visionary new talent Paul Raschid (White Chamber) The Complex stars Michelle Mylett (Letterkenny, Bad Blood), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, The Witch), Al Weaver (Grantchester) and Twitch streamer and former Xbox UK presenter, Leah Viathan. The film’s award-winning team includes Oscar-nominated Production Designer Guy Thompson (Black Sheep) and internationally acclaimed DOP Matthias Pilz (Top Boy). Alexandre Aja‘s creature feature Crawl is currently baring its teeth in theaters. It appears that the director isn’t wasting any time, he has already found his next project. It’s a “haunted house” movie, according to Collider. The currently untitled movie was written by Aja, Nick Simon (The Girl in the Photographs), and Jeff Howard who was behind Netflix’s huge hit series “The Haunting of Hill House.” Aja is taking an interesting approach, it will be an interactive movie, think “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.” To achieve the movie Aja and Amblin are partnering with Kino Industries’ CtrlMovie tech. The viewer at theaters will be able to vote on the direction and narrative the story takes. For those watching at home, they will be able to influence the storyline via a phone app. We’ll update you when we know more.
