World War of the Dead by Eric S. Brown

The basic synopsis of Eric S. Brown’s novel ‘World War of the Dead‘ is simple enough. In World War II the undead and a monster as old as time are brought to our world by a bombing run, and it’s up to 3 men who develop unique powers to stop them. …Okay, so maybe it’s not so simple. Overall I would say that World War of the Dead is an intense, enjoyable ride. There are several moments that made me go ‘What?!’ and ‘…uh… what?’ out loud, but what fun is an action-based zombie book if it doesn’t make you question its intentions aloud every now and again? Entertainment 5/5 I cannot stress enough that this book is a roller coaster ride, and that I mean that in the best possible way. There is a LOT of action due to the nature of the story, first and foremost. In a lot of ways it is first a war book, and

Movie Review: Mercy (2014) Starring Chandler Riggs

The producers that brought us “The Purge” and “Paranormal Activity”, have brought us “Mercy”. This supernatural film revolves around George, a young boy with the ability to see what most can’t, spirits. When George’s beloved Grandmother falls ill from a stroke he, his brother and his mom move to the Grandmother’s house in the country to take care of her. The stroke is the least of his family’s problems. When you make a deal with a demon bad things tend to happen. Grandma is not who she once was. Shirley Knight The interaction between George’s character and the character of his Grandmother played by Shirley Knight (Paul Blart: Mall Cop) made the movie kind of sweet but creepy at the same time. The characters have a very strange and twisted family dynamic. The 150 year old house they are living in is the same one that their grandfather committed suicide in, by taking an ax to his own head. I

Movie Review: Wolves

A teenage boy named Cayden starts to experience strange blackouts, enhanced strength and speed. Oh, and he’s turning into a werewolf. One day, after a blackout out he wakes up to find he’s killed his parents and attacked his girlfriend. He flees before the police arrive. A few scenes later Cayden is in a bar when meets a mysterious one eyed stranger, who also happens to be the only other werewolf he’s ever met. The stranger sends Cayden on a journey to a town where he can find more of “their kind”. Once there, he runs into a group of werewolves and their leader, Conner. Neither Conner or Cayden are aware of their connection to each other at first. Conner is far being a nice guy. He makes Cayden’s stay in town a nightmare. What else can cause such a clash between two men but a woman? The object of their affection is Angel, the local bar owner. She has

Serial Killer Opens A Real House Of Horrors

WARNING CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES It’s the time of year where we wait in long lines outside of creepy haunted houses, hoping for a scare. Inside, we know horrors of all kinds await us. The staff is dressed to scare and props make up macabre scenes. Imagine if some twisted killer decided to move open up a haunted house, located in an abandoned home, and display his victims instead of using props. It sounds like something out of a horror movie but, in the town of Gary Indiana that’s exactly what happened. A serial killer, who had fled from his previous location after committing several murders, moved in and began operating in Gary where he murdered at least eleven people. In 2014 the serial killer opened a twisted haunted house. He displayed a few his victims there for the public to see, of course it didn’t take the public long to realize that the props once had a pulse. The visitors

Supernatural Movies Every Horror Fan Should See

There are certain movies every self-respecting horror fan should see at least once in there life. Each week I will delve into a sub genre of horror and provide a list of 15 horror movies that are a must see. This week, we will begin with the sub genre that spooks me the most, Supernatural horror. -The Exorcist (1973) A young girl suffers from demonic possession. Two priests set out to exorcise her demons in a battle for her soul. The Exorcist is one of the most important horror movies ever made! If you watch it, beware, you will never be able to eat split pea soup again. -The Shining (1980) The Shining is based on the novel by Stephen King of the same name, which was fantastic! Jack takes a job as a care taker for a remote resort (bad idea). Jack’s wife and son join him as they settle in at the closed resort for a long hard
