Lionsgate’s supernatural thriller The Super, from director Stephen Rick, is approaching its arrival on Blu-ray and DVD. I had the opportunity to watch it and I’d like to share my thoughts with you. “Chicago P.D.” actor Patrick John Flueger stars as Phil, a father who starts a new job as the Super of an apartment building. Phil moves his two daughters, who are still reeling from the loss of their mother, into their new apartment that’s more of a storage room than a home. It doesn’t take long for Phil’s co-worker Walter, played by Val Kilmer, to focus on the girls, especially the youngest, Rose (Mattea Conforti). As the building’s tenants begin to disappear Phil thinks that a killer is at work and comes to believe that Walter may be behind it all. But, not everything is as it seems. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going on you’re hit with a huge twist that you won’t see

Part action, part horror, and all motor, Death Race: Beyond Anarchy, from director Don Michale Paul, races on to Blu-ray and DVD on October 2nd. Starring Danny Trejo, Danny Glover, and “Black Sails” actor Zach McGowan (interview), Death Race 4 is a non-stop thrill ride. McGowan plays the lead role of Connor, a true badass in every sense of the word. After falling for

Burt Gummer to the rescue! It’s been 28 years since we were first introduced to Graboids, the giant subterranean creatures that plagued the isolated town of Perfection. Now, the sixth film of the franchise, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell is headed to Blu-ray and DVD this May. I’ll be real honest with you, A Cold Day in Hell, in my opinion, is the best of the franchise since the original. At the beginning of the movie, we find Graboid slayer Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) wasting away and mad as hell at tax collectors in Perfection when his son Travis (Jamie Kennedy) returns from a long trip. As soon as Burt goes to take a nap he begins to have what appear to be a combo of nightmares and flashbacks. Just as he rolls out of his hammock, Travis brings news that a team of scientist needs Burt’s expertise. Burt is surprised to learn that the scientists believe there are

Today, I watched The Executioners, and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. It begins with a group of female friends heading to a lakeside home for a girls’ weekend. As night falls the women are disturbed by someone knocking on the door. Three men with painted faces rush in and a night of terror begins. Viewers are forced to watch not one, but three rapes and two sexual assaults, as well as the torture of both women and men in this movie. I fully understand that the writer-director Giorgio Serafini (Game of Death) wanted viewers to sympathize with the women as they turned the tables, but damn. In my opinion, it went too far. One in three women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime. That statistic is scary enough as it is, why anyone would want to use multiple graphic rapes as a plot point is beyond me. We are not talking about an act that
