We Want You…To Watch These 8 Patriotic Horror Films On The 4th Of July

Jaws (1975) Set over the July 4th weekend, Jaws centers on a battle between a giant shark and three men out to catch it before it kills again. The Shining (1980) While most of the film has nothing to do with the 4th of July, there is one scene that ties it to the holiday. If you look closely at the picture that shows Jack Nicholson’s image in a crowded photo you will see that the picture is labeled as being taken at a 4th of July celebration which is enough to land the classic on this list. Final Destination 3 (2006) When one student’s premonition of a roller coaster disaster saves her and her friends’ lives death tries to put things right. After several friends are claimed by death the survivors run into each other at a 4th of July celebration where all hell breaks loose. The third installment of the franchise is filled with great kills. Uncle Sam

Dive Into These 15 Aquatic Horror Films Set in Water

It’s that time of year again; the temperature is rising, and thoughts of waves, sandy beaches, exotic locations, or the local watering hole are filling your daydreams. While the water looks calm and inviting, it would serve you well to remember that just below the surface, nightmares are lurking. And we have a list of great films to remind you of that. Jaws (1975) When a giant great white begins to attack people in the waters of a small island community, the police chief, a marine biologist, and a grizzled fisherman set out to hunt it down. Jaws is a true classic that will never be outdone (that’s my opinion). Recently a deleted clip, deemed to graphic for the film, has surfaced. You can watch it HERE. The Shallows (2016) The Shallows stars Blake Lively as Nancy, a woman surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a Great White and stranded just a short distance from

For The Love Of Horror – 12 Horror Films To Watch On Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day, the day when we celebrate love. Why not celebrate the day with horror films dedicated to the subject? Cuddle up with your sweetheart, or pet, or your popcorn, and settle in for a love themed horror movie marathon. My Bloody Valentine (1981) My Bloody Valentine is the ultimate horror film set on Valentine’s Day. On V’Day the legend of a killer who targets those celebrating the holiday, comes to life. Nothing says “love” like a miner with a pick axe. The Bride of Chucky (1998) Chucky and Tiffany are one of my favorite horror couples. Their love never dies. Remember, the family that slays together stays together. My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009) This film is one of the few reboots that is just as enjoyable as the original. Tom (Jesnsen Ackles) returns home on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s Day massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a warm welcome he is accused of

The Best And Worst Horror Films Of 2016

THE BEST OF 2016 We saw a huge number of horror films released in 2016. There were a lot of great films, and a lot of bad ones too. Let’s focus on the good. Here’s our top 10 favorite horror films from 2016. To learn more about the film or to watch the trailer click the film’s highlighted title. 10. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies It was nice to see women in a horror film that can take care of themselves. While a fan of zombies, I think many people have grown tired of the slow, shambling, dumb undead, ‘PPZ’ gave us fast, intelligent zombies with a mission. 9. The Shallows Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and penned by Anthony Jasinski, The Shallows stars Blake Lively as Nancy, a woman surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a Great White and stranded just a short distance from shore. Though she is only 200 yards from her survival,

Dive Into A Movie Marathon With These 10 Great Shark Films

When summer arrives and the temperature begins to rise one of the first things that comes to mind is the beach, the cool water of the ocean and fun in the sun. But movies like The Shallows and Jaws capture the fear that comes with not knowing what lurks below the surface and just how fierce and relentless sharks can be. What better way to celebrate the summer than to dive into a marathon of shark movies. There are hundreds of shark movies out there, however, most are cheesy and ridiculous. This list does not include those. Here are a few of our favorite serious movies starring sharks. Jaws (1975) When a giant great white begins to attack people in the waters of a small island community, the police chief, a marine biologist and a grizzled fisherman set out to hunt it down. The True Stories Behind Some Of Our Favorite Horror Movies

In the opening scenes of many horror movies we’ve seen “Based on True Story” and it always seems to make the movies even more creepy. The Conjuring, Annabelle, Wolf Creek and An American Haunting are just a few examples. There are many other movies influenced by true stories, but here are a few of my favorites. Jaws This summer horror classic was inspired by a series of shark attacks that took place over twelve days along the Jersey Shore in 1916. Five people were attacked, only one survived. In July of that summer a seven foot Great White was caught. When the fisherman cut it up the middle body parts fell out of it’s stomach. The attacks stopped after the Great White was killed. A Nightmare On Elm Street Wes Craven has stated that he was inspired to write ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ by a series of articles in the LA Times in 1984 about two men from South
