Game Review: ‘Helheim Hassle’ Is Hel Of A Good Time!

A great big thank you to the folks at Perfectly Paranormal for allowing me to review their puzzle platformer, Helheim Hassle! Helheim Hassle follows the misadventures of Bjørn, a 14-year-old Viking that’s not really into the idea of dying in battle and going to Valhalla. As fate would have it, Bjørn dies in an act of bravery resulting in him going to Valhalla. Fast forward to the present, we meet Pesto who is from a Hell going to Helheim (Viking Hell) but ends up needing Bjørn’s help (to read runes) in return for his help, Pesto will help Bjørn go to Helheim, the only downside is… Pesto’s magic makes allows Bjørn’s limbs to fall off and move on their own. Onto the game itself! Controls can be a bit to master as certain buttons dictate what limb you want to fall off and take control of. It will take patience as some moments will require you to make decisions quickly

Senua Is Back, This Time In VR!

Ninja Theory is again taking the gaming experience to a whole other level in “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition”. The BAFTA award-winning game will now have a VR feature that will launch on Steam on July 31, 2018, for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The VR feature will be free to those who already purchased the game on Steam. The story will still be in third-person but the headset will now act as the camera as well as an aid in controlling Senua’s movements. “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” is a dark fantasy game about a young Pict woman named Senua who has come to the land of the “Northmen” to travel to their underworld to rescue the soul of her lover who was sacrificed to Hel, the Northmen’s goddess of the underworld. The main focus of the story is that Senua suffers from Psychosis that affects how she sees the world on her journey. Below is a video diary showcasing

Raising Awareness: Final Thoughts On ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’

This is a Spoiler Free article! Ninja Theory has released on Xbox One today their hit game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice that received positive reviews when it was on PlayStation 4 and PC. Ninja Theory allowed me to play the Xbox One version early and write a review for it. After finally completing the game, all I can say is the last time I’ve ever played a game that made me sit back and say “Wow…” after completing it was Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2 back in 2006. The following are my final thoughts on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice a game that’s both haunting and beautiful. It’s no big secret; the storyline’s core is about Senua’s mental health, this would make her relatable to the 1 in 5 American adults who suffer from all ranges of mental illnesses. The developers kept it no secret that Senua suffers from Psychosis, right now you’re probably thinking negatively of her thanks in part

Review Of ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’ On Xbox One

In August of 2017 indie-game developer Ninja Theory released on PlayStation 4 and PC, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The game was so popular on PS4 and PC it earned high praises from both critics and players alike as well as winning nine awards! With this success, Ninja Theory expanded the game’s potential and will release it on Xbox One on April 11th, 2018! I’ve been granted the honor by Ninja Theory to review it before it hit’s selves. All I can say now is you need to get this game! The game is heavily influenced by ancient Celtic culture along with Norse mythology, that’s enough right there to make you throw your wallets at the screen right now. The game revolves not just on the culture and mythology but on our heroine Senua’s mental health, Ninja Theory worked closely with mental health experts to make this part of the experience as real as possible, this is where the game is unique.

Krampus: The Christmas Demon

It’s been in vogue the past couple of years to address Santa’s counterpart, Krampus. Cartoon appearances, a few movies (one of which was a major motion picture), t-shirts and sweaters, various other media are all filling up with this Christmas Demon. But, where did he come from? Why did he disappear? And why is he back? So, sit back, get cozy on a chair in your new Christmas pajamas, and let’s explore the legend of this anamorphic demon. The origin time period of Krampus is unknown. Like St. Nicholas, he pre-dates Christianity and has been found in Alpine regions, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, he has stretched all through Europe and around the world. It seems, however, that his origins are in Norse folklore. The daughter of Loki (yup, Thor’s brother) is named Hel and oversees the land of the dead. Legend is it that she bore a son to an unknown father who she named Krampus
