Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Sheri Moon Zombie

Hello my Little Monsters, I’m pleased to see that you have again returned to join me in celebrating another of our wonderful Women of Horror. We are less than one week from Halloween, and it just so happens that today’s lovely and talented lady played Michael Myer’s mother in Rob Zombie’s brutal remake of John Carpenter’s horror classic Halloween. That’s right, today Sheri Moon Zombie is our lady in the spotlight. Sheri Lyn Skurkis may be a California girl by birth, having been born in San Jose, but she was raised in Torrington, Connecticut. In her late teens, Sheri would travel back and forth between Connecticut and California while she attended school and also pursued work. While she didn’t originally have designs on becoming an actress in the traditional sense, Sheri had her sights set on doing voice overs and voice acting for cartoons and animation. At one point she also wanted to join MTV’s ranks as a “VJ” and

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Scout Taylor-Compton

It’s almost here my Little Monsters,m October is almost here. And when it arrives, we begin that downhill run towards our beloved holiday, Halloween. In fact it’s with Halloween in mind that I chose this Wednesday’s wonderful Woman of Horror, Scout Taylor-Compton. Anyway… Desariee Starr Compton is a California girl, having been born in Long Beach, CA on February 21st of 1989. Now I’m not exactly sure when or even why she changed her name to Scout Taylor-Compton. Next time I see her at a con, I’ll have to ask her. And even though both names are perfectly lovely, I do admit that Scout just kind of stands out. As the daughter of a mortician, Scout definitely became conditioned to handle

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday – Dee Wallace

Hello my Little Monsters, and thank you for joining me once again. As you may well know, it’s Women in Horror Month. And while it’s great that women heave a month during which we celebrate their substantial contribution to the horror genre, I truly believe that they should always be celebrated. So going forward on Wednesdays I will throw a spotlight on one of our wonderful women of horror. Today I’m going to start with my first ever TRUE crush – Dee Wallace (swoons). For me the spring of 1982 was when I first became aware of Ms. Wallace. Granted the summer of this year would also be when she unknowingly harbored a alien being in her home in a little movie called E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. And even though this is when I first started crushing on her, it wasn’t the movie I first had seen her in. Actually, I was in second grade, and during spring break while watching
