The New ‘Grudge’ Movie Is Neither A Sequel Or A Remake

The new installment of The Grudge franchise is on its way from Sam Raimi’s Ghost House. In a surprising twist, director and co-writer Nicolas Pesce confirmed during an interview with Blood-Disgusting that the movie, simply titled The Grudge, is neither a sequel or remake, but instead takes place at the same time as the 2004 movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This movie takes place at the exact same time that the Sarah Michelle Gellar Grudge takes place,” Pesce stated. So Sarah Michelle Gellar is doing her thing in Japan, and this is what’s happening in America at that same time.” he continued. “So for people who know the old movies, American and Japanese, super well, they’ll see fun ways that we’ve connected it into the mythology and into the story and storylines that existed, while still making a totally separate story that, for all the people who haven’t seen the Grudge movies, this will still make sense to them,” Starring

1988’s ‘Ghosthouse’ Getting A Remake

Director Dustin Ferguson, who directed Nemesis 5 and editor of Sleepaway Camp IV, recently launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise initial funds for production on the remake of 1988’s Ghosthouse, re-written by Mike Reeb (Nemesis 5) and Jason Harlow (Another Evil Night). The remake of the Italian cult classic by director Umberto Lenzi (Cannibal Ferox) will begin filming this Autumn in Los Angeles. Paul Taylor (Hellraiser: Judgment) will star with special effects by Joe Castro (Wishmaster 3 & 4) and music by Justin Apone (The Toolbox Murders 2). The remake centers on a group of college kids who follow a mysterious broadcast on an old television set to an abandoned (and obviously haunted) house in the woods. Ectoplasm pits, flying objects, ghostly apparitions and the Grim Reaper himself are only a few of the horrors that await them inside! Ferguson is finalizing the details with rights holders Film Export Group now, so we should hear more soon. In the meantime,

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Scout Taylor-Compton

It’s almost here my Little Monsters,m October is almost here. And when it arrives, we begin that downhill run towards our beloved holiday, Halloween. In fact it’s with Halloween in mind that I chose this Wednesday’s wonderful Woman of Horror, Scout Taylor-Compton. Now I know there are those rabid fans out there that want to shit all over Rob Zombie’s re-imagining of John Carpenter’s classic, but I happened to like it very much, so I DON’T CARE that anyone else didn’t. Anyway… Desariee Starr Compton is a California girl, having been born in Long Beach, CA on February 21st of 1989. Now I’m not exactly sure when or even why she changed her name to Scout Taylor-Compton. Next time I see her at a con, I’ll have to ask her. And even though both names are perfectly lovely, I do admit that Scout just kind of stands out. As the daughter of a mortician, Scout definitely became conditioned to handle
