George R. R. Martin Calls The New “House Of The Dragon” Series “Dark” And “Powerful”

The new prequel series to “Game of Thrones,” “House of the Dragon” has fans excited, but they aren’t the only ones excited about the series, George R.R. Martin, whose novels “GOT” is based on, is psyched. Martin, who has seen the rough cut, has teased that fans won’t be disappointed this time, and after the pathetic finale of “GOT,” that says a lot. On Martin’s blog, he reminds fans that even though there are several Marvel series, a “Lord of the Rings” series and Netflix’s adaptation of Neill Gaiman’s “Sandman,” “House of the Dragon” is at the top of IMDb’s most anticipated pole. “Game Of Thrones” Prequel Series Canceled By HBO

“Game of Thrones” fans were left disappointed with its final season but found hope when the prequel series “House of the Dragon” was announced. Sadly, HBO has now officially canceled the prequel, ComingSoon.net reports. According to a new book, titled Tinderbox: HBO’s Ruthless Pursuit of New Frontiers, from former Warner Media chairman Bob Greenblatt, the series was canceled by the studio after already having spent a whopping $30 million on the project. “They had spent over $30 million on a Game of Thrones prequel pilot that was in production when I got there,” Greenblatt states in the book. “And when I saw a cut of it in a few months after I arrived, I said to Casey, ‘This just doesn’t work, and I don’t think it delivers on the promise of the original series.’ And he didn’t disagree, which actually was a relief. “Game Of Thrones” Duo Cast As Leads In New “The Last Of Us” HBO Series Adaptation

Naughty Dog’s extremely popular zombie game “The Last of Us” is getting a new series adaptation for HBO. The lead character of Ellie has now been cast with “Game of Thrones” actress Bella Ramsey to play the teenager who may be the key to the cure for the horrible pandemic. Ramsey will star opposite her fellow “Game of Thrones” alum Pedro Pascal who will play Joel. “The Last of Us” is “set twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.” Neil Druckmann, the game’s creator and writer is on board to co-write and produce along with Craig Mazin (Chernobyl). Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklage Reunite For Horror Movie ‘Good Bad & Undead’

“Game of Thrones” alum Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklage are reuniting for Legendary’s action-horror movie Good Bad & Undead, directed by Max Barbakow (Palm Springs), Deadline reports. The movie is based on an original idea by horror veterans Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the duo behind Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th (2009). “Dinklage will play Van Helsing, last in a long line of vampire hunters. Who Is The Ultimate Slashstreet Boy?

In case you haven’t heard, there’s been a new boy band in town called The Slashstreet Boys, and they’re exactly what they sound like, slashers, well, famous Hollywood slashers that we all love. The YouTube channel The Merkins is home to the Slashstreet Boys who do parodies of songs by The Backstreet Boys but keep them in the realm of horror their biggest hit among fans being “I’ll Kill You That Way”, but each member of the group has their music video of them parodying songs that fit along with their story. The Merkins also do parodies of other songs using characters from other shows like the Night King from Game of Thrones. Slashstreet Boys consist of Michael Myers of the “Halloween” films, Jason Voorhees from “Friday the 13th”, Freddy Kruger “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, Ghostface “Scream”, and Leatherface of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. “Game Of Thrones” Creators’ Upcoming Film Brings The World Of H.P. Lovecraft To Life

What if the horrifying world created by H.P. Lovecraft was real? We’ll soon see such a thing in the form of a feature film from the creators of “Game of Thrones” and Warner Bros. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who brought us the amazing series “Game of Thrones,” “are bringing the monster-filled world to life based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft and Hans Rodionoff’s graphic novel “Lovecraft,” Deadline reports. According to the site, “the movie asks a horrifying question: what if H.P. Lovecraft wasn’t making it up? What if the monsters he created are real? Also, the movie will be set in 1920 withing the Cthulhu mythos.” The script is being penned by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body) is executive producing. We’ll update you when we know more.

“Wynonna Earp” Actress Joins ‘The Silencing’ Along With Others

New cast members have been announced for Robin Pront‘s The Silencing, including “Wynonna Earp” actress Melanie Scrofano and Zahn McClarnon of “Westworld”. Scrofano and McClarnon join previously announced cast members Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy), Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, Shaun Smyth (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), and actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who starred as Jamie Lannister in “Game of Thrones. Penned by Micah Ranum, the film centers on a reformed hunter (Waldau) who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local sheriff (Wallis) set out to hunt a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter several years prior. Anova Pictures’ Cybill Lui is producing with Matt Code of Wilding Pictures co-producing. XYZ Films is executive producing The Silencing.

“Game of Thrones” creator George R.R. Martin is heading to the horror genre with “Nightflyers“, his collaboration with Syfy. Set in the year 2093, “Nightflyers” follows a team of scientists aboard The Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission takes them to the edge of the solar system, and to the edge of insanity, as they realize true horror isn’t waiting for them in outer space—it’s already on their ship. “Nightflyers” stars Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Gretchen Mol, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, and Brían F. O’Byrne. The series is based on the novella by George R.R. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer, and is produced by Universal Cable Productions and co-produced by Netflix.
