Final Expansion For ‘Frostpunk’ Coming

11 Bit Studios has announced the final expansion to their post-apocalyptic city building simulation game Frostpunk originally teased as “Project TVADGYCGJR” its real name was revealed to be On the Edge. The expansion is set after “The great storm” that plunged the world into a new ice age and citizens of England form new cites in the frozen wasteland with hopes of keeping humanity alive. As far as we know about On the Edge is that it’s about an expedition sent out from New London with a special assignment and a vague and ominous quote from a character in the game, “They say the snow is dead. But we’ve learnt to the contrary.” Frostpunk: On the Edge will be coming this summer for PC and can be wishlisted on STEAM now.

‘Frostpunk’ DLC Coming January

11 Bit Studios will be taking players back to the world of Frostpunk before the events of the main game in their upcoming DLC “The Last Autumn” that will show how the world looked before freezing over. The DLC will show crucial turning points in the world of Frostpunk as the never-ending winter approaches and how the survivors tried to beat back nature in a last-ditch effort to remain civilized before the British Empire finally collapses. Along with new lore, the DLC will include new buildings and technologies as well as new dangers that threaten the survivors and the peace of the settlement. The infamous “Book of Laws” will return and help shape society in new ways not explored in the main game. “The Last Autumn” DLC will release January 21st, for PC. Console releases will come at a later time.

Game Review: ‘Frostpunk: Console Edition’

You’ve heard of Steampunk, Cyberpunk, and you may have heard of Dieselpunk but the question is, are you ready for Frostpunk? The makers of This War of Mine, 11 Bit Studios, gave me the opportunity to play the console edition of their city-building game, Frostpunk. As mentioned, Frostpunk is a city-building game where players take on the role of the “Captain”, the leader of a band of survivors from London in an alternative universe where the world is plunged into a never-ending winter apocalypse. As the leader, you have to establish a city around a giant generator that’s also the only source of heat that will keep your people alive. You have to direct your people where to go and scavenge materials from the frozen wasteland to be used to either build industry, or power the generator. ‘Frostpunk’ Makes Players Survive Whatever The Cost

The team over at 11 bit studios, the makers of the critically acclaimed survival game This War of Mine, will be releasing another thought-provoking “actions have consequences” style game, Frostpunk where players take on the role of a ruler known as the “Captain” who is leading survivors to build a self-sustaining city while making some hard decisions. The story takes place in an alternate Steampunk reality of 1886. It’s summer but global temperatures have dropped well below freezing turning the world into a frozen wasteland. The player takes on the role of a leader of a group of survivors who he’s led to a gigantic furnace where they can stay warm and build a city around it. Players will have to deal with the plight of their people ranging from hunger, disease, monotony, and the human condition.
