Sandy Chukhadarian’s Film “Psychos” is Not One to Miss

When three young women receive shocking videos anonymously, a nightmare is reawakened that ignites a thirst for bloody vengeance. They embark on a journey to locate the house, their sadistic captor and to discover the truth behind those locked doors. But, the most shocking revelation of this chilling tale is the identities of the victims. If anyone has read my movie reviews before, you know that if the movie is lacking, I am not afraid to tell you so. I still feel a bit bad about my last scathing review, but it was honest. Luckily, today is not a day for scathe. I watched Psychos last night. This film written and directed by Sandy Chukhadarian and it was fantastic! It stars Angelica Chitwood, Deniele Cloutier and Melissa Elena Jones and is released through Leomark Studios. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. I watched the trailer about 30 seconds before watching the film and, to be honest, wasn’t gripped.

Reel Nightmare is a “Reel” Flop

I usually try to be pretty kind with movie reviews and I am fairly easy to please, but I have been racking my brain to find the pros outweighing the cons for Armand Petri’s Reel Nightmare. I watched the movie in a couple of sittings and absolutely couldn’t get hooked. I could see where the film was going and what Petri was trying to do, but it just fell absolutely flat. Not only was the acting blah, but the story was lost in the absolute cluelessness of the characters. Little things like not even mentioning the blacked out eyes of one of their friends after being possessed. Madeleine Heil, who plays the lead Sophie, was actually pretty good. But other than that, I’m sorry. Over the top stereotypes of horror tropes, homosexuality, machismo, and damsel in distress were laughable if not offensive. On the positive side, the plot was tried and true and the effects (both makeup and paranormal) really

The Autopsy of Jane Doe: The Character is Dead, but the Movie Thrives

I just finished the André Øvredal directed film The Autopsy of Jane Doe. Going into this movie, I was completely unaware of what it was about other than the brief synopsis on imdb.com. I chose to watch it because I had heard it was good and I am a fan of the starring actors. The film is obviously billed as a horror movie, but I didn’t know what type and, in the very best of ways, I didn’t expect what it was. I promise to give away no spoilers or even any hints about what to expect, but I strongly, strongly urge everyone to watch this movie. It did no rely of cheap thrills or over the top ridiculousness. My biggest issue with many horror movies is that the climax always ends up being some extravagant, highly destructive finale that doesn’t match the rest of the movie. This movie did not do that. The Autopsy of Jane Doe established a

Abbey Grace – Everything You’ve Already Seen in One, Fun Plot

Just finished watching Stephen Durham’s Abbey Grace and, although it isn’t a perfect movie, I definitely enjoyed watching it. The movie focuses on a sister (Debbie Sheridan) who returns to her childhood home to look after her agoraphobic brother (Jacob Hobbs). Both Sheridan and Hobbs offer convincing performances of the frustrations they feel and can’t seem to understand in each other. However, as the movie progressed, it became very clear why they got he leads as opposed to the other actors in the film. Invited to the house to observe Hobbs’ character, Amber Gallaway plays a renowned doctor who wasn’t necessarily a bad actress, but she seemed more like a giddy valley-girl in booty shorts as opposed to a highly touted professional. Semi Anthony, the exorcist, used an accent that was so muddles and off that I was waiting to know if he was joking or not….the film should have been a two- person cast. Aside from the downhill spiral
