New Black Death Mass Grave Discovered

During the outbreak of the bubonic plague in England, it was common to see mass graves in and around cities due to dense population, but the recent discovery uncovered in a rural part of the country might change the picture of how the plague affected communities. In Lincolnshire, a mass grave of 48 people (21 of them children) was discovered. The site of the grave is located at Thornton Abby where a hospital was attached to the Abby at the time of the plague. The bodies were buried days apart from each other and were carefully placed in the graves after the bodies were wrapped. The ages of the victims range from a year old to 45 years, researchers also believe that it’s possible that plague victims younger than 12 months were buried at the site as well but being so young there are rarely any skeletal remains. DNA extracted from the teeth of some of the remains contained DNA

Amelia Dyer And Baby Farming

In the 1880s while citizens in England were fixated on the murders in London’s Whitechapel district, another serial killer was hard at work in the town of Reading (Red-Ing). This killer’s victims were infants and by the time Jack the Ripper was on his third victim, this killer well surpassed him. The killer’s name was Amelia Dyer, occupation, Baby Farmer, a profession related to wet nursing in Victorian England except for the children in a Baby Farmer’s care was sold to them. In the Victorian era in England, there was the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834 caused a lot of heartaches, in short, it basically found ways to punish people who were poor. In this law it punished single mothers with illegitimate children by, lawfully, removing the financial responsibility to men who fathered illegitimate children. This added more stress for these mothers since at this time it was taboo for women to be single and have children; this also

David McGreavy was serving a life sentence for the murder of three children he was babysitting in 1973. McGreavy was called the “Monster of Worchester” due to how he murdered the children, all siblings, but he was also called the “Real Friday the 13th Killer” as the murders took place on the 13th of Friday in April of 1973. McGreavy was living with the Ralph family as he was friends with the children’s father, Clive Ralph. Both Clive and his wife worked nights leaving McGreavy to babysit the children but on that fateful night, McGreavy was drunk and he had a history of being a violent drunk as well. Shortly before the killings, McGreavy was at a pub with a friend and drank 5-7 pints of beer. After arriving back at the Ralph residence, he broke the skull of 8-month old Samantha, slit the throat of 2-year old Dawn, and strangled 4-year old Paul. Afterward, McGreavy took a pickax and

Not A Downer! Review Of ‘We Happy Few’ For The Xbox One

It’s beginning to look a lot like “1984” in 1964 in Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing’s long-awaited stealth RPG, “We Happy Few”. The story follows three characters whose tails are interconnected as they all wish to leave England that’s become a dystopian nation after the Second World War. In this alternative universe, Germany invaded England but it’s hinted that they were eventually forced out. Since then citizens have forgotten the past by taking pills known simply as Joy. While on Joy characters will see the world as a colorful and pleasant place where your past is not even a memory at all, except when you become a Downer, a person who has not taken their Joy pills in some time allowing the effects to wear off. Once the effects wear off you see the world as it really is; falling apart, no food, disease, and strangely…childless. There are no children, which is the main point in the plot of the

Morbid Beauty: Tipu’s Tiger

In the 18th century, England set its sights on colonizing India. India was prosperous in its own ways and would enter the modern age on its own time but England viewed it differently that they were backwater savages that needed to be forced into the present and to grovel thankfully for it. Obviously, this did not sit well with many of the country’s inhabitants leading to deep seeded resentment at the time (and still felt today somewhat). Nothing illustrates this more than the hand-cranked automaton known as Tipu’s Tiger. The machine depicts a tiger on top of a British soldier biting his neck as the soldier lies with a look of horror on his face. That’s not the end of it, the soldier moves; well his arm does in a flailing motion making the hand uncover the mouth where a metal pipe is and allows air to come out making a dull wailing sound as if the man is screaming.

Fans of the original 1973 or the flop 2006 remake of The Wicker Man can now scream as loud as they want at Alton Towers Resort’s upcoming roller coaster of the same name. On January 8th, Alton Towers announced the new ride and the opening date, as it’s now under construction. Alton Towers says the ride will be ready in time for the park’s season opening in the spring in Alton, Staffordshire, England. The roller coaster will be the first wooden roller coaster built in the UK in 21 years with the concept of fusing fire and wood, yes, fire. That aspect of the ride has raised some concerns for ride goers on social media saying that they don’t think it’s a good idea. Contrary to Alton Towers’ statement, this is not the first time a wooden roller coaster was fused with fire. The company building the ride, Great Coasters International, has made two roller coasters in the past that
