‘Sonic’ To Be Redesigned Says Director

First, it was the “creepy legs” on the poster, then it was the “creepy teeth” in the trailer, fans did not hold back how much they hated the look of the iconic video game character Sonic in the upcoming live-action film, Sonic the Hedgehog. The film will follow the iconic character’s misadventures on Earth along with a human sidekick. The “Sonic” games are iconic to many gamers and fans of SEGA. The blue caricature of famed spiky animal species collects rings and frees animals that were turned into robots all while moving at great speed. The game spawned an animated TV series as well as some more up to date games that take place in the Sonic universe. The live-action film came under fire immediately after the teaser poster was released showing a silhouette of Sonic in an “on your mark!” pose with his iconic red shoes visible. Immediately after the release of the poster, fans cringed at the “human-like”

The Webtoon ‘Melvina’s Therapy’ Is Just What The Doctor Ordered

Webtoons.com is a fun site where comic authors can showcase their works to readers. I’ve been a reader on the site for a while and have found some really nice comics that tend to be the “slice of life” comedic variety but recently I’ve discovered a darker comic that I could not stop reading as soon as I started, Melvina’s Therapy by A. Rasen. The Webtoon is about a Psychiatrist name Melvina who helps her clients unlock their deepest emotional trauma to “help” them; yes I used quotations there because in truth she’s using her patients to achieve a nefarious goal of using their torment as nourishment for herself. The overall plot is dark and mysterious with each chapter having their own twisted plot. The stories remind me of some of the really good horror manga’s I’ve read in the past. The art is fantastic and what I really love about this comic is the attention to detail. A. Rasen

A Nun Doll Is Coming This Summer

Porcelain dolls are one of two things, meh, or creepy. The dolls over at Living Dead Dolls are deliberately made to be creepy, especially since their best sellers are based on iconic horror characters. MezcoToyz recently announced that coming this summer there will be a doll of the scary nun from The Conjuring 2, Annabelle Creation, and the upcoming film The Nun. The Nun is the manifestation of the demon Valak. Don’t worry, the doll is not as tall as the 5’8 nun, it’s only 10” (inches) tall and can be kept sealed in its box that doubles as a display case. The doll will be out in stores for you to buy in time for The Nun’s release in theatres this September. If you’re impatient to add this little-veiled terror to your collection, you can pre-order her here! If Valak is not your type there’s more to choose from!

CREEPY Review: Long, Repeititve J-Horror

REVIEW BY KELLI MARKSMAN MCNEELY Takakura is a former detective. He receives a request from his ex-colleague, Nogami, to examine a missing family case that occurred 6 years earlier. Takakura follows Saki’s memory. She is the only surviving family member from the case. Meanwhile, Takakura and his wife Yasuko recently moved into a new home. Their neighbor, Nishino, has a sick wife and a young teen daughter. One day, the daughter, Mio, tells him that the man is not her father and she doesn’t know him at all. That is what the official synopsis of the movie says.. I also read some appreciating reviews about the movie. But according to me, It seems like Kurosawa lost his magic. This is a very average movie, nothing you haven’t seen before. The camera-work and acting is great but the movie and the whole plot was a huge letdown to me. The first half is something like the vein of ‘Cure’ (Kurusawa’s 1997
