Fox is letting Ryan Reynolds extend his wings and going solo with producing his first movie with his company Maximum Effort and the movie he’ll be working on, a live-action adaptation of the popular board game Clue. No details of the story had been released but Reynolds will be teaming up with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who he has already worked with before on both Deadpool films. A film version of the game already exists and attempts to remake it has come up in 2011 and 2016 with the projects being abandoned. The original film was made in 1985 and starred Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, and Lesley Ann Warren. The comedic twist of the game’s storyline where Curry’s character, the butler Wadsworth, takes the colorful characters on a marathon of sleuthing to solve the murder of Mr. Boddy who was murdered by one of the guests he was blackmailing. From writer-director Jenna Mattison comes the paranormal thriller ‘The Sound’, starring Rose McGowan. McGowan stars as Kelly, a writer who studies the paranormal believes that low frequency tactile sound is the cause for reported ghost sightings in an abandoned subway station. In an attempt to debunk the sightings, she breaks into the station to record evidence. Christopher Lloyd, Michael Eklund, Richard Gunn, Jane Moffat, and Alex Braustein co-star in this dark tale filled with ghosts of those who suffered from insanity. Cody Hackman, Mike Hattim, Louie Maisano, Ben McConley, Jason Van Eman, and Vincenzo Varallo serve as executive producers. There are things lurking in the in the trailer for ‘The Sound’ which will be released later this year.

A troubled teen is struggling to fight his homicidal tendencies, when he discovers a killer arrives in his small town. He must hunt down and destroy the killer while fighting his own urges in I AM Not a Serial Killer, directed by Billy O’Brien. The film premiered earlier this year at SXSW and was then picked up by IFC Midnight. Now, a release date for the thriller has been set for this August.
