Amber Alert Issued For Chucky And Glen (Yes, Really)

Two days ago subscribers of the Texas Alert System got a bit of a shock when they received an alert to be on the lookout for a kidnapper named Chucky and his son Glen. Yes, really. Issued on January 28th, the Amber Alert described Chucky as being a suspect, standing 3inches tall, weighing 16 pounds, wearing overalls, having red hair, and being 28-years-old. Glen, the reported kidnap victim, was described as a 5-year-old weighing 6 pounds, and being 2 feet 3 inches tall. To top it off, the alert also featured photos of the pair with a real number to call to report any sightings. Deadline reports that the Alert System apologized for the mistake. But we are guessing someone probably lost their job over it. The Texas Alert System told television station KENS 5 that the alert “is a result of a test malfunction. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and are diligently working to ensure

Special Effects Icon Todd Masters Talks Child’s Play And More In An Interview

I had the honor of sitting down with special effects master and Primetime Emmy Award winner Todd Masters who has been in the special effects industry for forty years and has worked on a horde of projects including Tales from the Crypt, Slither, Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson, and most recently Lars Kleveberg‘s new Child’s Play movie. Todd walked me through how Chucky was brought to life and so much more. In the film, Aubrey Plaza plays the role of a mother who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll for his birthday, unaware of its sinister nature. Beatrice Kitsos (“The Exorcist”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke (Shameless) also star in the film written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury). Mark Hamill voices the killer doll. Horror Fuel: “I have to confess, dolls freak me out. I was exposed to Chucky a little too young.” Todd Masters: “Oh, really? Where are you on the whole Chucky

Here’s What We Know About The “Chucky” Series

With Orion gearing up to release their Child’s Play reboot next month, you may be wondering where franchise creator Don Mancini‘s “Chucky” series stands. Last we reported Nick Antosca who created “Channel Zero” had come on board to produce. During a recent talk with Slash Film, Antosca teased that the series will more like the early films of the franchise and less like the Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky. The series is going to be closer to the tone of the first two movies in the series,” Antosca stated. “It’s going to go back to a sort of classic scare.” He continued. ““It’s consistent with that mythology, but it’s a whole new story,” Antosca explained. “So you could come into it without knowing anything about the previous stuff and get into it. But it is consistent with all the mythology that has come before, so it is in canon.” Antosca has left the door open for franchise regulars
